저는 꼭 설사 하던데ㅠㅠ 그래서 저는 생리 할 때 소화제를 늘 먹고 있어요
I always get constipated when I have my period. Is there a good way to fix it?
I don't usually have constipation at all.
But as soon as I start my period, I always get constipated.
It wasn't once or twice, it happened almost every month, and for the past three months, I've been constipated.
I always mark the dates and symptoms on a calendar app that predicts my cycle.
Stomach pain, acne, and constipation always repeat in a similar pattern.
So, for almost a week out of the month, I couldn't have a good bowel movement.
Last month was 5 weeks, so almost 2 weeksㅠㅠ
I'm already suffering from PMS syndrome.
During menstruation, I have abdominal pain, acne, muscle pain, breast pain, sensitivity, etc.
All kinds of symptoms appear, but constipation is the most difficult.
Other symptoms subside in a day or two or three, but constipation persists throughout the menstrual period, causing discomfort in the intestines and in daily life.
My stomach is bloated, but I can't go to the bathroom, and the stomachache feels worse.
I looked it up and it said that during menstruation, hormonal influences and bowel movements slow down, which can cause constipation.
Somehow I remember going to the bathroom very often even when I wasn't constipated.
After it's over, I can go back to normal bowel movements... I understand it in theory, but when I actually experience it every month, it's really uncomfortable.
Are there any people like me who only experience severe constipation during their period?
When I'm on my period, my stomach gets bloated anyway, so I eat less than usual and don't drink alcohol...
What other dietary adjustments are necessary?
Is it possible to manage it through lifestyle habits?
Or should I go to the hospital in this case too?
I'm also confused as to whether I should look into the obstetrics and gynecology department, or whether I should go to the internal medicine or gastroenterology department.
Since it is related to menstruation, it seems like an obstetrician/gynecologist would be appropriate, but since the symptom itself is constipation, it seems like an internal medicine doctor would be appropriate.
Is there anyone like me who only gets worse constipation or diarrhea when they have their period?
If you went to the hospital, where did you go?
I would appreciate it if you could share any helpful management methods or tips you have found.
