I felt extremely uncomfortable because of a thin nurse wearing glasses who appeared to be the oldest person in the hospital. First, Director Lee Se-rin examined my child's teeth and explained the necessary treatments. Since there were several issues requiring treatment, I agreed to proceed with the treatment tailored to our situation. However, this nurse approached me and asked why we weren't performing other treatments. She intimidated my child in front of him, saying that while it didn't matter since he wasn't her child, he would be in immense pain. When I mentioned that I wanted to return for a follow-up appointment and was confirming the treatment details, she spoke in a tone implying we wouldn't want the sedative gas because it incurs costs, as if she had judged that we were refusing other treatments solely for the expense. Just then, the treatment began, and the retaliation against my child started. It was painful to watch how roughly she pressed down on my child and treated him, but I endured it for the sake of the child's treatment. Eventually, perhaps finding it difficult herself, she came over and told me to hold him down. I also saw her drop the suction device she had been using on my child onto the floor. I naturally assumed she would replace the cover or clean it before reusing it, but she put the contaminated device directly back into my child's mouth. Since the contaminated device had already been placed in my child's mouth by the time I checked, I did not mention it to the hospital, but I hope that no other children suffer this kind of harm. I wish she would reflect on whether she would have acted that way if it were her own child, considering her attitude as a nurse—such as her remark that it didn't matter because the child wasn't her own, or her sarcastic comments implying that we wouldn't treat the child because it incurred costs, simply because we tried to split the treatment due to our schedule and circumstances. I hope she would consider this as a nurse and reflect on whether she would have acted that way if it were her own child. I should have left the hospital immediately after talking with this nurse and sought treatment at another place; as a parent, I regret deciding to proceed with the child's treatment while she was caring for him. If anyone else has suffered harm from this nurse, I would like to share this with you.
