This is a review of treatment for a ganglion cyst at Goyang Yeollin Orthopedics.
Reason for the visit
I frequently get raised cysts on the back of my hand.
I looked it up and it said it was a ganglion cyst.
In the past, it always disappeared naturally if I just left it alone without going to the hospital, so I just left it alone and watched it back then as well.
However, this cyst didn't go away for a long time, and it started hurting even though it didn't used to. Since it was on the back of my hand, it was very inconvenient for daily life.
It stuck out even more when I spread my hand wide.
So, I visited Open Orthopedics.
Hospital atmosphere
Yeollin Orthopedics is quite famous in this neighborhood for providing excellent medical care!
It is on the second floor of a building on the roadside not far from the station.
Most of the second floor is a hospital.
The hospital isn't that big, but it's not small either; it's a medium size.
It's quite pleasant.
Counseling process
You mentioned that the causes of ganglion cysts may be related to accumulated fatigue or a weakened immune system.
They said that the joint fluid had leaked out and clumped together, so it needs to be drained with an injection.
They said the treatment method can vary depending on the location or size, and that surgery is sometimes performed in severe cases, but they told me that injection treatment would be sufficient.
The director here explained everything so thoroughly that I stayed in the examination room for quite a while.
I waited a long time, but the actual consultation was also very detailed and thorough!!
The nurses are also kind.
Procedure
I've had injection treatment before, but it was very painful and recurred, so
I received an ultrasound injection treatment that allows for removal while accurately identifying the location, unlike last time.
It proceeded while watching the screen like this.
We don't use anesthesia; we just do it.
The pain is intense~~ It hurts so much ㅠㅠ
After having the cyst removed, I received physical therapy.
The cyst will disappear immediately after treatment.
I was told to wear a wrist brace when using my wrist a lot for about a week immediately after treatment, so I wore a brace as well.
The pain completely disappeared after the cyst was removed.
Treatment reflections
I felt that the care was thorough because it didn't end after the cyst was removed; I also received physical therapy, a prescription for medication, and guidance on using a compression brace. They only provided necessary treatments, and there was no unnecessary over-treatment such as taking X-rays or recommending other tests.
Actually, ganglion cysts frequently recur even after treatment, and since there is no specific cause for the recurrence, I went to the hospital often, but they always treated me thoroughly and well every time.
The downside is that since so many satisfied patients like me visit, the waiting time is really, really long.
Even so, the director doesn't just rush through the consultation in 2 or 3 minutes; he explains everything in really detailed way, so I trust him and continue to revisit Yeollin Orthopedics!
