A 25-ton truck parked at a highway rest area for drowsiness was hit with a loud crash.

At around 6:01 a.m. on the 26th, a K5 sedan collided with a 25-ton truck that was parked at a rest area for drowsiness on the Yeongdong Expressway heading towards Gangneung, 114 km from Mungmak-eup, Wonju-si, Gangwon Province.

A fire broke out in a K5 sedan along with the accident, and the fire was extinguished by the dispatched firefighters in 39 minutes. Driver A (43) was found dead in the K5 sedan.

The police are investigating the exact details of the accident based on security camera (CCTV) footage and other related materials.
