Four-month review of toenail fungus treatment and the differences before and after
My fingernails are fine, but I have chronic toenail fungus. I started receiving treatment for it last November, and it's already been four months. Looking at the Cashdoc community, I see quite a few people suffering from it. I hope my review will help you.
Athlete's foot symptoms
First off, my toenails were like this. They were really bad... lol
At this time, it had already been over a month since I started treating athlete's foot, but there wasn't much improvement.
Originally, it was said that treatment for athlete's foot should take at least six months to a year. I was disappointed that there wasn't much improvement at the time, but I endured it and continued to visit the dermatologist and take medication regularly.
How to treat athlete's foot
For mild cases, you'll usually start with ointment. For mid-stage cases like mine, where the athlete's foot has spread and thickened throughout the entire nail, you'll need to use oral medication. However, because antifungal medication is toxic, those with high liver function levels should be cautious! I was prescribed both oral medication and ointment.
Maybe it's because the medicine is so toxic, but the medication I was prescribed is one I take once a day. I get a month's supply at a time, and I go to the hospital every month.
I was prescribed Centos cream. I personally think it's very effective!!
4 months of treatment for athlete's foot
If you compare the before and after photos above, you can clearly see the difference, right? My fourth toenail in particular has improved significantly. Athlete's foot doesn't improve immediately after starting treatment; it seems like it takes about three to four months for the treatment to show results.
How to manage
In addition to medication and ointment, you should also take good care of your feet on a regular basis. Of course, I wash my feet thoroughly, and afterward, I diligently take care of my feet's ventilation. It's also a good idea to trim your toenails regularly.
Treating athlete's foot also requires a lot of persistence and patience. At first, I was frustrated because I couldn't get better quickly.
My second, third, and fourth toenails are improving, but my thumb and little toenails, which were the thickest and most affected, still need time. If you've decided to start toenail fungus treatment, don't give up and continue with the treatment until the end to regain healthy toenails!!
