The price of kim, a staple side dish for Koreans, has soared to 1.5 times the level of a year ago. The demand for Korean seaweed (kim) overseas has increased, leading to higher exports, a decrease in domestic stock, and continuous price hikes. According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation on the 14th, the average retail price of 10 sheets of dried kim was 1,492 won as of the 14th, up 42.5% from the previous year.
