*(Sleep) Why can't I fall asleep even though I didn't consume caffeine? Be careful with this too!!

Sometimes, even when my body is tired, I have trouble falling asleep when I lie down. It is said that what you eat before bed could be the problem. There are various foods that interfere with sleep besides caffeine-containing products, and simply avoiding coffee is not enough.

🥦 Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and other cruciferous vegetables

 

Rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Among these, dietary fiber can interfere with restful sleep at night. Dietary fiber is broken down by gut microbiota as it reaches the intestines, so it is digested slowly. Eating right before bed can activate the digestive system, making it easier for the body to become alert.

 

Greasy and spicy foods or high-protein foods

 

Fried foods are difficult for the stomach to digest, so after eating them, the body cannot rest comfortably. Spicy foods also prevent the body from falling asleep. To sleep well, your body temperature should drop by about 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius, but spicy foods cause the body to generate heat. Foods rich in protein should also be avoided before bed. Proteins have large molecular structures that are difficult to digest. Since a lot of stomach acid needs to be secreted for digestion, lying down after eating can cause heartburn or indigestion.

 

Foods that are acidic like tomatoes

 

Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C, iron, and lycopene, making them good for the body. However, they are acidic, so eating them before bed can cause heartburn and indigestion. People with weak stomachs should avoid eating them to ensure a good night's sleep.

 

❣️To sleep deeply, it is advisable not to eat anything from two hours before bedtime. If you want to do something, it is better to lightly smell lavender or drink chamomile tea. Lavender and chamomile have calming effects on the nerves. According to a research team at Inje University, lavender scent increases brain waves related to sleep in adult men and decreases brain waves related to alertness. There are also American research results indicating that chamomile tea improves sleep quality and alleviates depression.

    그러니깐요. 저도 요즘에는 왠만하면 9시 이후에는 먹지않도록
    하고 있어요.  노력이 필요한것 같아요.
