Sleeping in late on the weekend~ Not good for heart health.

Many people sleep excessively on weekends because they are sleep-deprived during busy weekdays due to work and other commitments. They sleep for a long period from the night before until around lunchtime the next day, but if you have this habit, it is better to change it. Even if you feel refreshed after waking up, it is not good for your health.

Irregular sleep patterns, such as sleeping less on weekdays and sleeping in on weekends, disrupt the body's circadian rhythm. When the circadian rhythm is disturbed, it can lead to falling asleep very early in the evening and difficulty returning to sleep after waking up in the early morning, a condition known as advanced sleep phase syndrome (morning type). Conversely, there is also a risk of developing delayed sleep phase syndrome (evening type), characterized by falling asleep late at night and waking up late in the morning. Additionally, various symptoms such as drowsiness during daily activities, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, and decreased concentration may occur.

Sleeping all at once on the weekend is also bad for heart health.

If you want to sleep a lot on the weekend, it's better to split it into two days rather than sleeping all at once. Instead of sleeping 4 extra hours on Saturday, you should sleep an additional 2 hours on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday. At this time, the total sleep compensation time should not exceed 2 hours.
