Overeating, fatty foods, excessive drinking… The more year-end and New Year's commitments you have, the more your stomach suffers. Abdominal bloating is a common and uncomfortable symptom that often occurs after a long night of drinking. While the feeling of fullness and pressure will subside on its own over time, persistent symptoms could indicate digestive issues, hormonal fluctuations, or other issues.

The most common causes of abdominal bloating include overeating, eating too quickly, and gas buildup in the intestines. Fortunately, simply drinking enough fluids can calm the digestive system, reduce gas, and alleviate discomfort.

Here are six drinks that will help you feel better after overeating, according to Eat This, Not That, an American health media outlet.

Drinking a cup of warm ginger tea can help when you feel bloated. Ginger is effective in relieving bloating because it helps stomach contents move more smoothly, promoting digestion. Ginger also contains carminatives, which help expel intestinal gas. Ginger tea can provide quick relief, especially when bloating is caused by excessive gas.

Green tea is rich in antioxidants and catechins, which are effective in soothing the digestive system and reducing bloating. Catechins have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which help reduce intestinal gas and aid digestion. Drinking a cup of warm green tea after a meal can help improve digestion and leave you feeling lighter.

The most basic approach may be the most effective. Water plays a crucial role in alleviating abdominal bloating caused by constipation. If the body lacks sufficient water, the remaining water in food is absorbed during digestion, hardening the stool and making it difficult to pass. Golden Milk

 

Golden milk is a drink made with turmeric, milk (or plant-based milk), pepper, ginger, and honey. Turmeric contains the active ingredient curcumin, which is effective in relieving bloating and indigestion. Ginger also promotes digestion and helps eliminate gas, making golden milk effective in relieving bloating.
