As you gain weight, your nose color changes 'like this'... What is the reason?

There is a person with a red nose that looks like they are drunk. Sometimes, not only the nose but also the cheeks turn red, leading to complexes. What could be the cause of a red nose that looks like drunkenness?

First, the official name of strawberry nose is rosacea. Rosacea refers to a chronic inflammatory condition that occurs on the face, such as the nose or cheeks. The main symptoms include abnormal dilation of blood vessels, causing redness of the skin, along with itching and a burning sensation. Additionally, ocular symptoms may appear, such as dry eyes or conjunctival redness. In severe cases, the skin surface may become bumpy, accompanied by pus or swelling.

Cellulite is commonly found in women in their 30s to 50s, especially in obese women, which increases the risk of occurrence. There is actually a study that clarifies the relationship between obesity and the development of cellulite. Dr. Li Wenqing, a dermatologist at Brown University School of Medicine in the United States, analyzed data from 90,000 nurses over a period of 14 years. As a result, for women, the likelihood of developing cellulite increased by an average of 4% each time their weight increased by 4.5 kg starting from age 18. Additionally, women with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher, which is the standard for obesity, had a 48% higher incidence of cellulite compared to women with normal weight. The research team hypothesized that obesity causes chronic inflammation throughout the body, including blood vessels, which deteriorates vascular health and thereby increases the risk of developing cellulite.

To prevent redness of the nose or face caused by injections, it is best to avoid risk factors. Avoid stress and sudden temperature changes, and it is also good to consume less alcohol and spicy foods. Losing weight through dietary management and regular exercise can also help. Injection redness can be alleviated with medications such as antibiotics or ointments. If symptoms are severe, laser surgery can also be considered. However, since side effects such as pain or blisters may occur, it is important to consult with a doctor thoroughly before making a decision.
