Doenjang soup and rice for breakfast vs. processed meat and bread... Which is the worst diet?

Looking at the foods recommended for breakfast these days, they seem a far cry from the traditional foods our grandmothers ate. Oatmeal, avocado, yogurt, and blueberries, while healthful foods of Western origin, are gradually appearing on our tables more frequently. Conversely, traditional foods like soup and rice are no longer what they once were. Is this due to the recent trend toward convenience? Or is there a different standard for healthy eating? Let's take a closer look at healthy breakfasts.

You must eat breakfast ... Why it's also helpful for dieting

Health authorities around the world, including Korea, strongly recommend eating breakfast. It not only helps with nutrient intake but also weight management. It suppresses hunger and prevents overeating at lunch. Above all, it provides the body and brain with energy for the morning. For students preparing for exams, breakfast is even more crucial. Caffeine-containing beverages like coffee consumed on an empty stomach can damage the stomach lining. Consuming them after a meal is essential for maintaining a healthy stomach.

The power of the traditional diet that grandmothers ate ... If you make the soup the day before and heat it up in the morning, OK

Just because it's traditional doesn't mean it's a hassle. Soybean paste stew, seaweed soup, or bean sprout soup can be prepared the night before and simply reheated in the morning. Just make sure it's not too salty. Serve multigrain rice in a rice cooker with a fried egg, seasoned seaweed, vegetables, and fruit for a healthy meal that's balanced in carbohydrates, fat, protein, and vitamins. Soy foods are rich in isoflavones, which help prevent breast cancer (National Cancer Information Center). Multigrain rice has a low glycemic index, which slowly raises blood sugar and contributes to blood vessel health. Eggs are a source of muscle-healthy protein, and vegetables and fruit are rich in vitamins and have excellent antioxidant properties.

factory-made processed meats , processed juice ...  It can cause blood sugar spikes and weight gain.

Natural foods are best in the morning, when your stomach is sensitive and hungry after sleeping. However, factory-made foods are gaining ground. Processed meats like bacon, sausage, and ham are prime examples. The International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization (WHO), has classified these foods as Group 1 carcinogens, known to cause colon cancer, due to their preservative content. Group 1 carcinogens also include fine dust and tobacco. White bread, especially if it's high in sugar, can cause post-meal blood sugar spikes and weight gain. If you do eat bread, choose whole wheat bread. Some juices advertise themselves as "fresh fruit juice," but they're high in sugar. It's wise to check the ingredient list before purchasing.

vegetable - Fruit is a must-have breakfast food ... Why it's better to eat on an empty stomach ?

Vegetables and fruits are a must-have for breakfast. They're even better when eaten before meals. Cabbage, in particular, contains vitamin U, which soothes an upset stomach and helps protect the stomach lining. Antioxidants like vitamin C in raw green vegetables help reduce body damage. Apples, bananas, and other foods are rich in dietary fiber, which helps with intestinal health and promotes smooth bowel movements in the morning. Cherry tomatoes, with their powerful antioxidant properties, inhibit cell damage and are effective in preventing prostate cancer. Low-fat, calcium-fortified yogurt is good for those who don't like milk. You can't eat all the foods listed above; choose according to your individual needs.

Bacon, hot dogs, sausages, etc. for colon health

We need to reduce our intake of processed meat.

In the morning, I mainly eat sweet potatoes and fruits.

I need to pack more vegetables.
