If you eat meat and drink this instead of mixed coffee, your digestion will improve.

After eating greasy pork belly, I find myself craving mixed coffee. It's delicious, but nutritionally speaking, it's not good. I'd rather drink peppermint tea.

 

It is best not to drink coffee after eating beef or pork. The tannins and caffeine in coffee can interfere with the proper absorption of iron in meat. Iron is beneficial for the smooth transport of oxygen throughout the body and for improving organ function. However, if you drink coffee after eating meat, the tannins bind with the iron, forming tannin iron, reducing iron absorption. Caffeine also binds with iron, causing it to be excreted in the urine.

After eating meat, it is good to drink peppermint tea to soothe your greasy stomach. Peppermint is great for soothing a sensitive digestive system. A study found that 75% of 57 patients with irritable bowel syndrome who took peppermint oil capsules for four weeks experienced symptom relief. The researchers attributed this to the menthol in peppermint, which reduces muscle contractions in the digestive tract and exerts anti-inflammatory effects. Menthol is also found in peppermint tea.

 

Chamomile tea also helps. Chamomile relieves heartburn and aids digestion. A 2006 study published in Molecular Medicine Reports found that chamomile extract reduces stomach acidity. Its anti-inflammatory properties also help reduce inflammation in the stomach and intestines.

 

If you have an upset stomach, it is also good to drink ginger powder mixed in water as tea. Gingerol, which gives ginger its distinctive spicy flavor, stimulates gastric juice secretion and stimulates gastric motility. Ginger also contains enzymes like diastase, protease, and trypsin, which aid digestion. In fact, a study conducted by the School of Medicine at Cheung Kyeong University in Taiwan found that people who consumed about 1 gram of ginger powder before a meal experienced stomach emptying 50% faster than usual.
