Egyptian fencer who fought with Jeon Ha-young was actually 7 months pregnant

Egyptian fencing national team member Nada Hafez (26) posted on Instagram on the 30th with the title "Olympic athlete seven months pregnant." He said, "It may have looked like two athletes were on the field, but in fact, there were three," and "It was me, the opponent, and my little unborn baby who has not yet been born into the world."

Next, she wrote, "My baby and I went through a physically and mentally difficult process," and "Pregnancy itself is like a roller coaster, and I had to balance life and exercise, fighting through many situations. But the Olympics was a stage worth participating in despite experiencing such circumstances."

He said, "I am proud to have reached the round of 16, and I am posting this message," and "It was possible to get this far because of the trust of my husband and family."

He said, "I participated in the Olympics three times, but this stage was different. At the Paris Olympics, I carried a small Olympian with me."

Hafiz, who is from Cairo, Egypt, participated in three consecutive Olympics: the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the 2024 Paris Olympics. Although he did not reach the round of 32 in the previous two Olympics, he advanced to the round of 16 this time.

Hafiz defeated Elizabeth Tartakovsky of the United States 15-13 in the round of 32 at this Olympics, but was eliminated after losing 15-7 to Jeon Hanyoung of Korea in the round of 16.
