From Wednesday, July 3rd, changes in waste separation methods (initially implemented only in Seoul)

1. When separating and disposing of vinyl, only wash off the contents of any foreign substances attached and separate the vinyl.

2. Gochujang & Doenjang are separated as regular waste, not food waste.

(Contents are diluted with water and discarded, or the container is reused and disposed of as general waste)

(Except for soybean paste and red pepper paste, the rest must be separated into food waste or plastic)

Flour can stick to or harden in the drain, causing it to become solid and block the pipe, so it should be classified as food waste.

3. Banana peels are food waste, everything else is regular trash.

It's because of the red pepper powder seasoning used in the kimchi. If you wash the kimchi with water, it can be classified as food waste, whereas the state before washing is considered general waste.

🚫 The fine for mixed waste separation is 100,000 to 300,000 won, so let's all be careful!
