Can it be recycled without opening the label?

While drinking a beverage, I almost finished it and put it in a PET bottle.

I was about to tear off and throw away the label sheet...

What is this? You don't have to open it.

Is it biodegradable? I heard it can be separated and disposed of without tearing, so I wasn't sure if it was okay, so I tore it...
