The areas middle-aged women most want to lose weight from are their belly fat and arm fat. However, for middle-aged women, the more difficult area to lose weight than the belly is the arm fat. Gaining weight is one issue, but the lack of muscle causing flabbiness cannot be hidden.

 

Especially, the arms are areas where women tend to have more fat. However, there are no exercises or diets that target and burn fat in only specific areas. Instead, it is more effective to reduce overall body fat and increase muscle mass. We explore effective methods to lose fat or build muscle in the arm area.

 

Switch to a low-calorie diet.

 

To lose weight, you need to eat less and drink less rather than burning more from your body. The calories we consume each day are used for the body to rest, digest food, carry out metabolic processes, and move. Providing fewer calories than needed can lead to weight loss.

 

2️⃣ Do arm and shoulder strength exercises

 

The best way to reduce arm fat is to replace fat with muscle tissue. Building muscle provides energy from fat, fueling the muscles even while the body is sleeping. Effective exercises to reduce arm fat include strength training that targets the biceps, triceps, and deltoid muscles of the shoulders. Push-ups and pull-ups are also helpful.

 

Reduce refined sugar intake.

 

A diet high in refined sugar can contribute not only to weight gain but also to long-term increases in blood sugar and insulin resistance. To boost metabolism, it is essential to avoid high-fat foods, processed foods, refined sugars, and excessive intake of nutrient-poor carbohydrates. Consuming lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains daily, and maintaining a diet composed of 40% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 30% fat, is beneficial.

 

4️⃣ Do aerobic exercise

 

Cardiovascular exercise is another way to lose weight. Long walks, running, cycling, and swimming are excellent choices. Walking can burn 300 to 500 calories per hour, and running can burn the same amount of calories in about half the time. Standing while working or using stairs instead of elevators can also make a significant difference in calorie expenditure.

 

Drink more water.

 

Hydration is one of the overlooked factors in weight loss. When dehydrated, metabolism can slow down. Drinking enough water is crucial for maintaining an efficient metabolism. People often mistake their need for water as hunger and end up seeking food.

 

6️⃣ Increase your fiber intake

 

Adding fiber to your diet helps you feel full for a longer period and reduces snack intake. Foods high in fiber slow digestion and help stabilize blood sugar levels, which can aid in weight loss. It is good to include fiber-rich foods such as broccoli, beans, berries, avocados, apples, and whole grains.
