I think I developed varicose veins because of my job that involves sitting for long periods.

I have been trying to walk more than ten thousand steps almost every day lately. It's for exercise and health, but part of the reason is also to prevent varicose veins. At work, I mostly sit and work, and at home, I often sit in front of the computer. As a result, in the afternoon, I often feel my calves swell and become firm. Sometimes, when I look at my calves, I notice the veins appear bluer and more prominent. Since I sit almost all day, I think it's because my blood circulation isn't good.

My friend, who does a similar job to mine, also had severe varicose veins and received injections. I thought her veins had just become a bit more prominent, but then she said she suddenly saw bulging parts. So she hurried to the hospital for treatment. It's not yet serious enough to require surgery, but the protruding areas are not aesthetically pleasing and there is a risk of scarring, so they recommended injection therapy to reduce them. After the injections, her veins definitely looked much less prominent. Since then, both my friend and I have been trying to move as much as possible, encouraging each other and walking a lot. For those who sit or stand in the same position for long periods while working, let's make sure to move and stretch our legs intentionally to promote blood circulation. She said the injections hurt a lot. ㅜㅜ
