Eating sweet potatoes, apples, and radishes together... causes stomach discomfort and changes in lung function?

Sweet potatoes are delicious and have many health benefits. However, sweet potatoes can easily cause gas by causing intestinal microbes to ferment, leading to discomfort and flatulence. However, avoiding sweet potatoes, a nutritious snack, is not an option. In such cases, try eating apples or radishes (raw radish, cubed radish, dongchimi, etc.). These side effects can be alleviated. Let's take a closer look at sweet potatoes.

sweet potato + apologize + The effect of nothingness ... Reduce flatulence and relieve stomach discomfort

Apples and radishes pair well with sweet potatoes. The amaind found in sweet potatoes can cause flatulence, but eating apples, rich in pectin, can help alleviate this symptom. Radishes, such as kkakdugi (Korean radish kimchi) and dongchimi (Korean radish kimchi), contain diastase, a digestive enzyme, which can help alleviate stomach discomfort. Conversely, sweet potatoes help excrete the salty components (sodium) found in salted radishes. For a more convenient way to enjoy them, slice apples or raw radishes and place them next to sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoes , Pumpkin sweet potato , Beniharuka Sweet Potato ... The breed that suits me is ?

Common varieties grown in Korea include chestnut sweet potatoes, pumpkin sweet potatoes, and Beniharuka sweet potatoes. There are also purple sweet potatoes, which contain the purple anthocyanin pigments found in blueberries. Chestnut sweet potatoes, which taste similar to chestnuts, are firm and have little moisture when steamed or baked, resulting in a somewhat dry texture. Pumpkin sweet potatoes, which have a yellowish color like pumpkin, have a soft texture. They have high moisture and sugar content and are soft and delicious. Beniharuka sweet potatoes are a cross between chestnut sweet potatoes and pumpkin sweet potatoes. Purple sweet potatoes have a light red skin and purple flesh, and the anthocyanin pigments provide antioxidant effects.

Slows aging and improves lung function , blood pressure control , Anticancer effect ... The benefits of sweet potatoes ?

The key ingredient in sweet potatoes is beta-carotene, which slows aging, improves lung function, and has anti-cancer properties (National Cancer Information Center data). The rich dietary fiber helps with bowel movements and prevents constipation, and alapin, a white substance that comes out when sweet potatoes are cut, plays a role in this process. Potassium also helps excrete sodium from the body, contributing to blood pressure management (National Institute of Agricultural Sciences data). Vitamin C, which remains abundant even after steaming or baking, helps relieve fatigue and stress. The calories per 100g of sweet potato are approximately 111 kcal for raw sweet potatoes, 114 kcal for steamed sweet potatoes, and 141 kcal for roasted sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes have a glycemic index of around 55, which is lower than that of potatoes (90), which raises blood sugar levels.

It's better to eat it with the skin on ... Avoid overeating as it is high in carbohydrates

Sweet potatoes' skins contain more anthocyanins than their flesh. Wash them thoroughly and eat them with the skin on. The skin contains enzymes that break down starch, aiding digestion and reducing gas production. Store sweet potatoes at room temperature (12-15°C). Store them on a veranda or in a well-ventilated area. Refrigerating them can cause the sugars to convert to starch, reducing their sweetness. Sweet potatoes are high in potassium, so those with kidney problems should limit their intake to avoid hyperkalemia. They are best eaten as an afternoon snack rather than as a dessert with rice, a carbohydrate-rich meal.
