I prevented constipation by consuming dietary fiber and probiotics.
Last year, I suffered from constipation for several months, but after taking medication, I felt somewhat better. However, I had a feeling that the constipation might continue, so I looked into what I could do to prevent it. I found that increasing dietary fiber intake and taking probiotic yogurt are good for preventing constipation, so I started eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and purchased probiotic yogurt to consume. As a result, my bowel movements improved, and passing stool became easier, which definitely helped prevent constipation. I didn't originally have constipation, but last year, especially under work-related stress, I irregularly ate meals and mostly consumed fast food and meat, which eventually led to constipation. Every time I went to the bathroom, it was very uncomfortable, difficult, and painful, so I went to the hospital and was prescribed medication. After taking it, I temporarily felt better. However, I was worried that constipation might return, so I researched what I could do to prevent it. It is said that staying hydrated, doing light exercise, drinking caffeinated coffee, increasing dietary fiber intake, and taking probiotic yogurt can help prevent constipation. I usually drink plenty of water, walk quite a bit, and drink a lot of coffee. However, I hardly consumed dietary fiber from fruits and vegetables. Therefore, I decided that what I needed to prevent constipation was to increase my intake of dietary fiber, so I started eating more vegetables like broccoli and carrots, as well as fruits like apples and pears.
And at the same time as increasing dietary fiber intake, I purchased probiotics and took them daily. Probiotics are said to increase beneficial bacteria in the gut, suppress harmful bacteria, promote intestinal movement, and help prevent constipation.
By consistently consuming dietary fiber for several months and taking probiotic yogurt to prevent constipation, the constipation did not recur. I plan to continue maintaining a proper diet and keep taking probiotic yogurt to prevent constipation in the future.
