Periodic vinegar sterilization

 

One of the easiest ways to sterilize an ice tray is vinegar. The various acidic components contained in vinegar have a sterilizing effect that kills microorganisms.

You can simply pour vinegar to sterilize, but to increase the effectiveness, heat the vinegar before use. After pouring vinegar into a bowl, heat it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.

 

Heating vinegar increases the activity of acetic acid, which can enhance its sterilization effect. Pour the heated vinegar into each compartment of an ice cube tray. Then wait for about 20 minutes.

Then rinse simply with water and dry. If you have vinegar, sterilizing ice trays is really easy.

 

Removing drain odors with vinegar ice

 

Pour vinegar into an ice tray and freeze it to help eliminate drain odors. You can also reuse the disinfected vinegar without discarding it.

Mix vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio, then freeze in the freezer to make vinegar ice cubes.

 

The vinegar ice made in this way should be placed in the drain and melted slowly. The key point to note is to melt it as slowly as possible without using water.

 

If vinegar flows too quickly down the drain, it will not have a sterilizing or deodorizing effect. Instead, dissolving slowly like this helps eliminate odors.
