(Story) How do you overcome trauma from a traffic accident?
I wasn't directly involved in a traffic accident.
When I was young, my younger sibling went to a friend's house and since it was late, I went to pick them up, walking a 10-minute distance.
My younger sibling hurriedly left only after worrying that they might get scolded by mom because it was late.
There was a two-lane road on the way home.
Because the road was narrow and not many cars passed by, there was a crosswalk at that time, but there were no traffic lights.
I should have just told him to go a little slower back then. No, I should have held his hand and gone with him.
My younger sibling, who was crossing the street, was hit by a van in a traffic accident.
I was a witness.
At that time, I was 10 years old and my younger sibling was 8 years old.
I still vividly remember my younger sibling lying face down on the road, not moving even now.
My younger sibling was severely injured in the accident and has undergone more than ten plastic surgeries.
I underwent a major surgery that included attaching buttock flesh to the forehead area.
The image from that time still remains a trauma for me, and whenever I see the same color van from back then or a two-lane road without traffic lights, I still find myself trembling uncontrollably.
I received treatment, but overcoming trauma is not easy.
