Regarding the complete cure of stage 1 colon cancer discovered during a health check-up
I had a polyp found and removed during a colonoscopy during a health checkup. Fortunately, the results were negative, so I didn't pay much attention to it. However, I had a few overseas business trips, so I couldn't get a health checkup for two years.
A few years ago, I had a health checkup and it was confirmed that I had some polyps in my colon, so a few were removed. However, based on the analysis of the polyps, I was told to come back for a follow-up consultation in a few days. A few days later, the doctor told me that the biopsy results showed the polyps were benign, but that I had stage 1 colon cancer. At that moment, I felt like I was going to die. Fortunately, the doctor reassured me that it was not a big deal because it was caught early, and I was able to relax. After that, I underwent about six months of chemotherapy and had follow-up examinations for about five years, which confirmed that I was cured. This experience made me realize once again the importance of health screenings, no matter how minor the misdiagnosis might be. I was lucky to have discovered it early and received easy treatment, but I can understand the plight of patients who are still suffering from cancer.
