Review of uterine polyp removal at Moms Women's Hospital
I should have had a health checkup last year, but I put it off and ended up having an ultrasound of the uterus (not part of the health checkup, but it's paid) after 3 years.
Then, a uterine polyp that had not been there before was discovered. So, I made an appointment for surgery on the spot.
And finally, the day of the surgery!! Entering Moms Women's Hospital.
This place has an obstetrics and gynecology department, hospitalization room, internal medicine department, and health checkup center, so it's great that they all work together^^
The reception desk originally opens at 9:00, but they started accepting applications 10 minutes before, perhaps for the sake of those waiting.
I made a reservation in advance, but I still need to register, right? I register and go to the obstetrics and gynecology department to wait.
I need to get a PCR test three days before surgery. The test is inexpensive because it's for hospitalization. It's a little over 4,000 won.
And on the day of admission, a rapid antigen test is performed again.
If the results are negative, you'll have a brief consultation with the nurse in charge and then go to the nurse's office on the 6th floor. This is the admission room.
I had to change clothes and get antibiotics, so I had to do a reaction test. This was secretly painfulㅜㅜ
They put in a surgical IV. When they took it out later, I noticed that the needle was very thick, probably because it was for surgical use.
I failed with my left hand and got hit with my right hand.
After that, I couldn't take my camera with me so I couldn't take any picturesㅜㅜ
The operating room was incredibly cold. My body was shivering.
It is dangerous to move during surgery, so keep both hands still.
When the doctor in charge comes in, he or she will give you an anesthetic injection.
And.... (about an hour later)
As soon as I came to my senses to the sound of someone waking me up saying, "The surgery is over," my stomach hurts so muchㅜㅜ
It was seriously the worst period pain I've ever experienced.
When I said I was in a lot of pain, they gave me some painkillers.
I feel dizzy, my stomach hurts... and I have no strength.
I think I was lying there for about an hour without moving.
It's not just abdominal pain like menstrual cramps, but because it touches the uterine wall, a lot of blood comes out like menstruation.
The nurses put a pad on me, but it was very uncomfortable because it was straight.
So I brought some sanitary pads in advance.
This is a picture I took when I got home to show you as a sample, so the dates are different.
Anyway, if you're having uterine polyp surgery, be sure to bring this with you. It's so convenient. ^^
And after sleeping for one night, I consult with the doctor in charge again before being discharged, get an ultrasound, and get disinfected.
She said that because there were more uterine polyps than expected, it took longer than expected, and that her stomach hurt a lot.
However, they said that the cervix that was inserted during the procedure was too small to completely remove the large polyp that was the main cyst.
Instead, since it was torn a lot, they said that it would usually all be removed after 2-3 periods... so they told me to wait and see.
This part is a little sadㅜㅜ
It would have been better to do it all at once, but then the instruments would have to be inserted, disinfected, and so on, so it would have taken too much time, so they finished it there.
I'm not an expert... so I'll just believe that you did it that way^^
And here's the receipt I received after calculating the cost when I was discharged today. The surgery cost was about 360,000 won. The largest portion was the non-covered ultrasound fee of 200,000 won.
Non-covered? I was wondering why the ultrasound was so expensive, even though it's not covered, so I asked the general affairs department. They said it's a surgical ultrasound, necessary for surgery. Hmm -ㅅ- (I hope it's covered by the actual cost;;)
Ah. I'll go check the biopsy results in a week^^
Then I will receive the insurance claim form and file a claim. (I don't think anyone will be curious, lol) I will also post a review after the claim!!
And below are the three meals I had when I was hospitalized.
The meal was the most satisfying haha
I don't know if anyone will read the whole long post, but anyway, thank you for reading this far^^
