A woman in her 40s who thought she was healthy was unexpectedly diagnosed with ovarian cancer and warned to "remember two signals from your body."
Recently, the UK Daily Mail reported that 45-year-old woman Jo Yeats had been living healthily until she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during a health check three years ago. She was actively enjoying outdoor activities such as Pilates, swimming, and walking, maintaining a healthy daily life.
However, during a cervical cancer screening by chance, I found out that I had a tumor in my ovary.
He thought there were no signs, but in fact, his body was signaling something. Jo said, "I had no idea about ovarian cancer and didn't think I had any symptoms. I experienced abdominal bloating and frequent urination, but I thought it was just due to simple dietary changes or aging."
Jo, who studied ovarian cancer afterward, realized that she had two symptoms of ovarian cancer before the diagnosis. They were abdominal bloating and frequent urination.
He warned, "Never ignore these two signals," and he confessed, "I knew nothing about ovarian cancer and didn't think I had any symptoms. I had symptoms of ovarian cancer such as abdominal bloating and frequent urination, but I thought they were just due to simple dietary changes or aging."
Jo underwent a hysterectomy including the removal of the ovaries, which led to early menopause. Additionally, during further tests, cancer cells were found in the fat layer surrounding the organs (omentum), and she received weekly chemotherapy for six months. Three years after the cancer diagnosis, she is in a recovered state, to the extent that she can look forward to a healthy future.
Ovarian cancer is difficult to diagnose early because its initial symptoms are vague, and there are no effective screening methods available for early detection. Therefore, it is important to pay close attention to your body's condition on a regular basis.
The typical symptoms of ovarian cancer include abdominal bloating, abdominal or pelvic pain, feeling full after eating only a small amount of food, frequent urination or urgent need to urinate, unexplained weight gain or loss, extreme fatigue, back pain, pain between periods after menopause, and changes in bowel habits.
