Causes of Fainting - Why Get an Echocardiogram
I get a health checkup every year.
I once felt a pang of chest tightness for no reason, then lost consciousness and fainted.
I don't usually feel this symptom, but it seemed to happen often back then.
I've fainted several times while working because my head was spinning.
One time, I felt like I was going to faint while driving, so I quickly stopped on the side of the road.
I also had an experience of taking a break.
I even broke out in a cold sweat all over my body ㅠㅠ
So even though I am in my 30s and healthy,
I decided to have a cardiac ultrasound done at the same time as my health checkup.
But I always received the test results by mail at home.
I got a phone call
You need to visit the hospital to hear the results of the examination...
It was really scary.
At that time, I visited with my older sister, and we held hands tightly.
I don't remember the details because it happened 3-4 years ago
One of the heart valves does not close properly, causing blood to flow backward.
tertiary hospital He told me to go there...........
yes?????????????????????
He explained it while showing the ultrasound.
If you really have 100 blood, you only send out about 70 to 80 of it.
It came back into the pericardium againㅠㅠ
I thought that maybe I fainted because the blood supply to my whole body was not good.
So, he gave me a medical opinion and an ultrasound CD, telling me to go to a tertiary hospital for a checkup right away.
At that time, my house was in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu.
Nearby Seoul Asan Medical Center I made an appointment for this.
Since it was my first visit, I didn't even know how to make a reservation.
I thought I could just make a reservation over the phone....
I clicked on the hospital website to make a reservation, left my phone number and symptoms, and then I received a call.
The professor said that I should make an appointment for an outpatient visit first.
The earliest date is a month later...
(At that time, COVID-19 was at its peak)
Visit on the scheduled date one month later and follow the quarantine procedures.
(At this time, guardians could also apply for a visit in advance using QR code, receive a barcode, and enter) They also had to submit a statement and CD to the general affairs department.
Finally, I meet you, Professor!
But I didn't do anything right away that day lol
The CD is also meaningless and they said I have to check it again here.....
So I went that day and just made an appointment for the test and the professor really only looked at me for about a minute?? and then I made an appointment with the nurse in front of me and came backㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
But I think the inspection date was about 40 days later.
After 40 days, we followed the quarantine procedures again and finally
I went to the lab and got tested.
After an ultrasound and basic blood and urine tests, they put a small machine on my heart and took me home.
They said I need to do a 24-hour follow-up test.
So I lived with the machine on for 24 hours and then came back the next day.
I went to the hospital and had a final exercise test.
I ran on the treadmill with the machine attached.
I think I walked and ran for about 20 minutes.
So, after more than two long months of sleep, I completed the examination.
And then I met the professor and got the test results.
They said I'd hear about it in a month lol
So another month has passed!!!!!!!!
I went to see the professor for the last, really, really, really, really last time!
The test results show a slight symptom of mitral regurgitation.
It is not serious enough to interfere with daily life.
It was a vain but happy ending where you just have to live...
I visited the hospital three times over a period of three long months.
Among them, I only saw the professor twice.
Even the total time I watched it wasn't even 10 minutesㅠㅠ
Well, I was really relieved to hear that it wasn't a serious illness.
The money and time invested... Ah, this is why I personally experienced that it is really difficult to get treatment at a tertiary hospital.
But I felt something was wrong with my body, so I didn't go to the hospital.
Rather than being stressed and worried every day without knowing the cause,
Get an accurate diagnosis from a proper hospital
I recommend that you get advice and treatment on how to be careful in the future.
It's been 3-4 years since then
I live a healthy life, but I'm careful not to strain my body too much!
Still, sometimes when I overdo it or am not in good condition,
There are times when I feel like I'm going to faint.
In times like that, I quickly lie down and rest.
The scariest thing is that when I feel like I'm going to faint while driving, I break out in a cold sweat and my whole body tenses up...ㅠㅠ
If you also have any abnormal symptoms in your body,
Don't hesitate and go to a place that is not a tertiary hospital, but is at least a secondary hospital.
How about getting treatment and counseling?
