I am someone who struggles with dryness during the winter season.
From the eyes to the skin... I'm really struggling with dryness.
But if this dryness leads to a disease, I think it would be really terrible.
However, I also see many people around me suffering from this kind of skin condition.
Ultimately, the hospital is the answer, but if we make an effort to prevent dryness in everyday life, the quality of life can improve a little more.
I think it might get better.
We explore skin dryness conditions and ways to manage and prevent skin from becoming dry.
Diseases related to dry skin
✅Atopic dermatitis
In winter, as humidity decreases, the skin barrier weakens, leading to increased dryness and itching. It occurs on the inner sides of the elbows, behind the knees, and other overlapping skin areas, accompanied by redness, warmth, and oozing.
✅Psoriasis
A chronic condition characterized by abnormal and rapid proliferation of skin cells, leading to thickening of the stratum corneum in dry environments. White scales layer over the rash area, with well-defined and flaky skin lesions. It appears on the outer sides of the elbows and knees, the scalp, and the front of the shins, areas that are frequently exposed to irritation.
Contact dermatitis
Dry skin becomes more sensitive to external stimuli, making inflammation more likely to occur. This condition reacts to certain substances, causing inflammation, redness, swelling, and other spots at the contact site, accompanied by itching and a burning sensation.
✅Dry eczema
As skin dryness worsens, it causes the skin to become white and flaky, turning red, and it may be accompanied by oozing.
It appears on the arms, legs, waist, pelvis, and the back of the hands.
