IU: "Pus is oozing out and my skin is dying"... What is Stevens-Johnson syndrome?
Wow, I really do that exactly like that ㅠㅠ
Busy going to the hospital after getting bitten by mosquitoesㅠ
Take medication and get injections... it takes about 3-4 days to recover.
The chest remains, and it's so painful, isn't it? ㅠㅠ
Singer and actress IU (real name Lee Ji-eun, 31) revealed that she has been suffering from Skitter syndrome since childhood.
On the 19th, IU appeared on the YouTube channel operated by actress Yoo In-na and explained her symptoms of Skitter syndrome, saying, "When I get bitten by mosquitoes, I develop a bump like Old Man Hobburi, and because of that, I have to take antibiotics as pus oozes out and it hurts."
IU said, "It's a kind of disease like mosquito allergy. If you search for it, you'll find it," and she searched for Skitter syndrome on the internet with Yoonina.
IU said, "(When bitten by a mosquito) it spreads over a large area, turns red, swells severely like edema, and develops blisters," and "I was bitten all over my face, leaving scars. The areas where I was bitten badly as a child are still dead tissue today. There are places where even if you prick with a needle, it doesn't hurt because the tissue is dead."
Then he added, "So I dislike mosquitoes more than cockroaches."
Meanwhile, there is no specific treatment for Skitter syndrome, which IU has revealed she is suffering from. Patients with Skitter syndrome exhibit a stronger immune response than the general population when bitten by mosquitoes, resulting in swelling and blisters at the bite site. In particular, Skitter syndrome occurs more frequently in children with weakened immune systems.
It is safe to go to the hospital immediately for treatment if symptoms of Skerter syndrome appear. If not treated promptly, symptoms can last for more than 10 days. Additionally, neglecting blisters and other issues can lead to the risk of secondary infection.
