I wash my hair well every day. Why do dandruff still appear??
It's just as the title says. That's exactly the kind of case I have.
If I don't wash my hair once a day, I feel extremely uncomfortable, and I also get oily easily.
Sometimes I see dead skin and it stresses me out.
Currently, I buy medicated shampoo and wash regularly when I see it. Before I knew about medicated shampoo, the dandruff caused me quite a bit of stress.
Even though I wash and dry my hair well every day, why do dandruff and flakes keep forming??
Reasons for dandruff formation
Excessive secretion of sebaceous glands,
Excessive proliferation of scalp cells
Hormonal imbalance
✅Irregular lifestyle habits
Excessive dieting
✅Shampoo residue
Seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis
✅Other various types
Especially, a fungus called 'Pityrosporum ovale,' one of the normal skin bacteria, proliferates excessively due to factors such as hormones, weather, stress, and genetics, becoming a major cause of dandruff.
Symptoms of dandruff
The main symptom is itching. It is often accompanied by the formation of small flakes.
How to get rid of dandruff
The most important thing to eliminate dandruff is to maintain a clean scalp through proper hygiene. It is recommended to wash your hair once a day, and using medicated shampoos containing antifungal agents 2 to 3 times a week can be helpful.
If seborrheic dermatitis is accompanied by eczema or psoriasis, short-term use of strong topical steroids can also be effective.
Dandruff is a condition that tends to recur frequently rather than being completely cured, so it is very important to consistently keep the scalp clean and manage it to prevent dryness.
Everyday methods to minimize dandruff
If you have oily dandruff, wash your hair once a day to control sebum production.
Use a dandruff-specific shampoo to balance the oil and moisture levels of the scalp.
Please massage thoroughly with your fingertips when shampooing.
Avoid hot winds; dry with cold or lukewarm winds.
Avoid irregular habits centered around instant or fast food.
When you experience itching, do not scratch your scalp.
