[Health Column] Why Is the Cost of Implant Revision Surgery More Expensive Than the Initial One? The Real Reason Explained by a Dental Specialist[1]
hello! Lee Hyun-seop, Chief Director of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. There are many people who expect that once they have implant surgery, they will be able to use them reliably for a lifetime or for a very long time. In fact, if you provide thorough after-sales service, there are many cases where you can use it stably for over 10 years without any issues. However, unfortunately, situations often arise where you face the cost of implant revision surgery due to a lack of aftercare or sudden gum inflammation. "I already spent a lot of money on surgery, do I have to do it again?", "Why is the cost of revision surgery higher than the first time?" My heart feels heavy whenever I receive questions from patients who are upset, saying things like that. So today, I will clearly explain, tailored to the patient's perspective, exactly why implant revision surgery costs arise and in what cases the cost difference is significant! 1. What are the main causes that lead to implant revision surgery? The main reasons for needing to re-implant an implant include peri-implantitis (inflammation of the surrounding gums), fracture of the prosthesis, and failure of initial fixation. 📌 The most common culprit, peri-implantitis The most common reason for deciding on revision surgery is peri-implantitis. Inflammation of the gums and bone surrounding the implant can lead to bone resorption, where the alveolar bone responsible for firmly supporting the implant erodes. Initially, it starts mildly with gum bleeding or slight swelling, but if left untreated, it eventually leads to the implant becoming severely loose. 📌 Damage to prosthetics and structures due to excessive force If you enjoy eating hard and chewy foods or if excessive force is continuously applied to the oral cavity, structural damage such as breakage of the prosthesis or loosening of internal screws may occur. If you visit a dentist early, this problem can be resolved relatively simply, but if you delay and neglect it for a long time, it will eventually lead to implant revision surgery, resulting in much higher costs. 📌 Initial fixation failure due to failure to properly fuse with bone Immediately after implant surgery, the process of 'osseointegration,' in which the gum bone and the implant firmly bond as one unit, is extremely important. However, there are cases where implants fail to properly anchor to the bone due to factors such as excessive smoking or drinking after surgery, failure to control diabetes, or insufficient initial post-operative care. 2. What are some abnormal implant symptoms that absolutely should not be overlooked? If you experience gum bleeding, looseness, food getting stuck, or feel looseness or discomfort when chewing, you should get a check-up promptly without delay. . If you feel any subtle changes or discomfort in your mouth, you must never dismiss it by assuming it will get better on its own. Whether initial response This is because it is the key factor determining the difference in the cost of implant revision surgery. 🔹 My gums keep bleeding every time I brush my teeth. 🔹 I feel like my implant tooth is slightly loose. 🔹 Food keeps getting stuck between my teeth more than before. 🔹 When chewing food with enjoyment, it feels inexplicably uncomfortable and aching. 🔹 I feel a slight looseness that is different from when the prosthesis was first placed. If you experience even one of the symptoms mentioned above, visiting a dentist promptly to check your condition is the wisest way to significantly reduce the difficulty of treatment and the cost of re-surgery. 3. Why is the cost of implant revision surgery more expensive than the initial surgery? This is because revision surgery is not simply about re-implanting the implant, but involves complex recovery treatments simultaneously, such as the removal of the existing implant, treatment of inflammation, and bone grafting. ! Many people ask, "Why is it more expensive than the first time when the dentist is just implanting it exactly the same way?" Implant revision surgery is by no means a simple process of just pulling it out and quickly re-implanting it. This is because the root cause of the problem with the existing implant must be accurately identified, the area damaged by inflammation restored to normal, and the re-implantation process must be repeated from the beginning. When actually performing the surgery Unlike the initial surgery, the following complicated treatment processes are added. 🔸 Removal of existing implants : The problematic existing fixture (artificial tooth root) already embedded in the gums must be cleanly removed. At this point, the difficulty varies widely depending on whether it simply pops out or requires surgical removal that involves cutting away the alveolar bone. 🔸 Treatment of surrounding inflammation : If the implant is filled with peri-implantitis, you must undergo treatment to completely scrape out the surrounding infected tissue and clean the area thoroughly. 🔸 Bone grafting and maxillary sinus lift : If the gum bone has already been severely lost due to inflammation, bone grafting or sinus lift surgery is essential to refill the bone and create a foundation for placing a new implant. 🔸 Re-implantation surgery and prosthetic remanufacturing : We re-implant a new implant into the firmly restored alveolar bone, and completely redesign and fabricate the abutment and crown to suit the patient's current oral condition. 💡 Implant Revision Surgery Cost Formula at a Glance [Surgical removal of existing implant + Treatment for inflammation and gum recovery + Advanced bone grafting + Re-implantation of new implant and fabrication of prosthesis] In the end, all of this Existing treatment + recovery treatment + retreatment Because the process involves complex steps performed simultaneously, the overall cost of the implant revision surgery is inevitably higher than the initial cost. 4. Is it true that the cost of revision surgery varies from person to person and that a complete removal might not be necessary? 🦷 🦷Yes, that is true! The cost varies depending on the extent of inflammation and bone loss, and we can reduce the financial burden by replacing only the upper components instead of extracting the entire bone. ! This is precisely why it is difficult to get a clear, fixed price even if you call a dental clinic out of the blue and ask, "How much does implant revision surgery cost?" The exact cost of revision surgery is as follows: Individual patient's oral environment and precise examination results This is because it varies completely depending on. Extent of inflammation and degree of alveolar bone (gum bone) loss Difficulty of removing existing implants Whether bone grafting and maxillary sinus lift are performed Number of implants requiring re-implantation Fortunately, not all patients necessarily have to undergo the terrifying surgery of digging out the entire thing and replanting it. Depending on the condition, treatment is neatly divided into two main directions. ✔️ Cases where only parts can be modified or replaced (relatively low burden) Fortunately, if the gum bone is very strong and there is a simple problem only with the upper prosthesis, an internal screw has loosened, or it is only slightly damaged, there is absolutely no need to extract the entire tooth. Since only some parts need to be simply repaired or replaced, the pain and cost burden are significantly reduced. ⚠️ Cases where full revision surgery is essential (somewhat high burden) If peri-implantitis has progressed severely, causing significant bone resorption in the surrounding area, or if the fixture itself within the gum bone is completely fractured and damaged, it is necessary to surgically remove the entire existing structure completely before proceeding with re-implantation, which increases both the difficulty and the cost. 5. What is the best management method to definitely reduce the cost of implant revision surgery? The most perfect way to save money is regular checkups every 6 months to 1 year, thorough follow-up care using dental floss and interdental brushes, and quitting smoking. The greatest secret to drastically reducing the cost of implant revision surgery and protecting your wallet is ultimately adhering to the basic principle of 'thorough initial care.' If you meticulously follow just the following three rules in your mouth, you can completely avoid the risk of revision surgery. ✨ Make regular dental checkups every 6 months to 1 year a part of your daily routine! You must never skip the regular check-up schedule provided by the dental clinic. If invisible, microscopic gum inflammation or loosening of dental prosthetics is detected early when they are still very small, you can avoid major re-surgery and prevent extensive treatment with simple measures, allowing you to enjoy a luxurious experience. ✨ Much more meticulous oral hygiene care than natural teeth! Since implant teeth do not have nerves, caring for the surrounding gums is much more important than for natural teeth. Since regular brushing alone cannot remove all the fine debris stuck in the crevices, you must carry a set of dental floss, interdental brushes, and water flossers (oral irrigators) to consistently and thoroughly clean every nook and cranny. ✨ Thoroughly manage smoking that slowly melts away your gum bone! Smoking is a terrifying culprit that drastically increases the frequency of peri-implantitis, which causes inflammation around implants, and explosively raises the risk of bone resorption, where the gum bone collapses. In particular, you must firmly avoid smoking, which is harmful in every way, immediately after implant surgery or during the sensitive initial settling period, in order to safely preserve the foundation of your precious teeth. FAQ Q1. If the gums around the implant bleed, do I absolutely have to have them all extracted and undergo re-surgery? ? A1. No! There is absolutely no need to be scared right from the start. In cases of early-stage periodontal inflammation characterized by bleeding gums, or simply loose screws or minor damage to the upper prosthesis, treatment is possible without the need to extract the entire tooth; only specific parts can be neatly modified or replaced, allowing for burden-free treatment. However, if the bone has already severely eroded, a full re-operation may be necessary, so it is important to undergo a thorough examination immediately upon discovery. Q2. Why does smoking after implant surgery increase the likelihood of re-surgery and cost more money? ? A2. This is because smoking constricts blood vessels in the mouth, fatally interfering with the most critical process of 'osseofusion,' where the gum bone and the implant must adhere tightly as one. This leads to an uncontrollable increase in the risk of peri-implantitis and bone resorption, ultimately resulting in the burden of massive revision surgery costs where the entire implant structure must be removed and bone grafting must be performed again from the beginning due to the failure of initial fixation. conclusion The cost of implant revision surgery is by no means a one-dimensional expense of simply implanting a new artificial tooth component. This is a comprehensive treatment fee that includes a highly specialized recovery process to safely and healthily normalize the gum environment and alveolar bone foundation, which have been severely collapsed and damaged due to inflammation. Therefore, the most certain key point to prevent frightening side effects and massive waste of money is the speed of catching subtle abnormal signals before the problem snowballs. Don't carelessly miss the timing by thinking, "It doesn't hurt yet, so it'll be fine," or "Even if I feel a slight wavering, I'm busy, so I'll go later." The habit of visiting a dental professional without delay to have your condition thoroughly checked when you feel even slight shaking or minor discomfort. This is truly the best wisdom for fully protecting your precious dental health and, consequently, definitely saving the biggest costs. 이현섭 원장26.05.21Views 28730Likes 1 [Health Column] 3 Things More Important Than Implant Costs: Criteria for Choosing a Failure-Free Clinic[2]
✨ Hello! We always put your dental health first. SmileD Dental Clinic, Chief Director Oh Su-hwan It is. 🥰 When considering dental implant treatment, many of you likely search by comparing with the 'lowest price' as your top priority. 🔍 However, it is truly heartbreaking to see patients in the consultation room who have hastily chosen a hospital based solely on cost, only to come to me later suffering from poor follow-up care or unexpected side effects. 😢 In fact, dental implants are not simply a surgery where you implant an artificial tooth and that's it; it is a highly precise treatment process that requires a perfect balance of three factors, from accurate pre-operative diagnosis to long-term maintenance. 🦷 Today, I will clearly summarize the 3 criteria for choosing a truly fail-safe implant dental clinic that are hidden behind the price! 👇 1️⃣ Implant experience and Total Treatment Is this a place where it is possible? ✨My precious Harmony between natural teeth and implants Check out the comprehensive medical care system that preserves and cares for together Many people choose a hospital after seeing the phrase "implant specialist" in an advertisement. However, under our country's medical system, there is no separate specialty called 'Implantology,' and actual treatment is completed through close collaboration among various dental subspecialties. The key point we must focus on here is that rather than a dental clinic that insists solely on implant placement, the patient's inherent preciousness 'Total Dental Clinic' that comprehensively considers natural teeth and implants It is to select. This is because inside our mouths, there are not only spaces that need to be newly implanted, but also natural teeth that must be saved and used for a long time. Furthermore, our medical team, having honed their proficiency through countless implant placements, possesses solid know-how to ensure safe and successful treatment even in unexpected, high-difficulty cases encountered during surgery. 2️⃣ Is it an 'explanation-centered' hospital that communicates with patients? Rushing treatment based solely on the counseling manager's guidance without a doctor's careful diagnosis Factory-style dental clinic Be vigilant The so-called practice of receiving a precise diagnosis from a doctor very briefly, and then hastily proceeding with a contract based solely on the consultation manager's words regarding specific treatment plans or surgery decisions. Factory-style dental clinic You must be cautious. ⚠️ Implant treatment is between the patient and the medical team Information asymmetry This is an area where it can occur very severely. 📉 If a patient undergoes surgery without fully understanding the details of the treatment, it becomes very difficult to clearly determine liability if side effects or problems arise later. Fully explaining the surgical process and the patient's condition and communicating closely with them is itself an excellent first step in treatment. Make sure to keep a close eye on whether the hospital operates an official blog or YouTube channel to actively communicate and resolve even the smallest questions from patients, and whether the doctor makes a kind effort to help patients understand during in-person consultations! 💬 3️⃣ Is there a 'post-care' program that takes responsibility until the very end? ✨ Check out the thorough regular check-up system to prevent side effects that are scarier than the implant itself Implant treatment does not end once the artificial tooth is safely implanted into the gum; it is a long journey where 'real care begins from that moment.' 🏁 Signs of complications and side effects, such as slight loosening of the prosthesis or gum swelling, appear very subtly in the early stages, making it extremely difficult for patients to notice them on their own. Therefore, periodic and thorough regular checkups are an absolute necessity. 🔍 If there is a place that irresponsibly says the following immediately after the surgery, it is safer to avoid it if possible. 💬 "If you have no discomfort, please come back in a year." Thoroughly checking whether the hospital consistently operates a systematic follow-up inspection program and demonstrates full responsibility by promising a clear written warranty period is the surest shortcut to avoiding wasting your precious time and money! 💰 🧐 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q1. Isn't a dental clinic that specializes exclusively in implants always better? 🤔 A1. Of course, choosing a dental clinic with an overwhelmingly large number of implant surgery cases is a good idea. 👌 However, you should avoid places that insist solely on extraction followed by implant placement, even if there is a possibility of saving your natural teeth. Care that ensures the health of the existing natural teeth and the occlusion of the newly implanted implant prosthetics interlock harmoniously. Total Dental Clinic Receiving treatment here is much more advantageous in the long run. ✨ Q2. The waiting time for treatment at the dental clinic I plan to visit is too long and difficult. Should I just put up with it and keep going? A2. Time convenience, as well as accessibility, plays a very significant role in a patient's satisfactory hospital experience. 🙏 If waiting times become excessively long and you are unable to receive necessary medical care or treatment smoothly in a timely manner, it will ultimately result in harm to the patient. Also, check if they have an efficient appointment and treatment system in place that allows you to receive medical care smoothly and without major disruptions at the appropriate time you desire. Q3. How can I prevent 'peri-implantitis,' where the gum bone erodes? ⚠️ A3. Implants are fundamentally different from natural teeth because they do not have nerves distributed inside. 💡 For this reason, even if severe inflammation develops in the surrounding gums, the patient feels little to no pain, making it easy to neglect. Ultimately, the only way to use your implants for a long time without side effects is to visit the dental clinic without fail according to the schedule set to have the condition of the prosthetic connections precisely checked, and to receive thorough care through systematic regular checkups and scaling. 🦷 🎯 Conclusion and Words of Advice 📌 Please make sure to remember this for successful treatment! Dental implants are absolutely not a trivial treatment to be chosen simply by comparing price lists and chasing the place offering the lowest price. 🙅♂️ You can achieve regret-free results only when firmly supported by the surgeon's seasoned clinical experience, explanation-centered communication that listens to the patient's voice, and a post-operative care program that takes responsibility for your entire life. ✨ Rather than being lured by exaggerated low-price advertisements or flashy discount offers to make a hasty decision about surgery, I hope you carefully compare the criteria I shared today one by one and make adjustments to regain your healthy teeth. 🥰 If you have any further questions regarding the condition of your teeth, please feel free to visit our dental clinic anytime for a thorough, personalized one-on-one consultation with a specialist! 💬 Smile D Dental Clinic Chief Director Oh Su-hwan Graduated from Yonsei University College of Dentistry Major in Orthodontics, Yonsei University Graduate School of Dentistry Ministry of Health and Welfare certified orthodontist Regular member of the Korean Association of Orthodontists Completed internship and residency in Orthodontics at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital International member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) International member of the World Federation of Correctional Organizations (WFO) Regular member of the Korean Association of Orthodontists Certified by the Korean Association of Orthodontists View more expert columns by Dr. Oh Su-hwan, Director of Smile D Dental Clinic 🔗 [Expert Column] Clear Aligners: Wire-Free Orthodontic Treatment—Can It Really Be Unnoticeable? 🔗 [Expert Column] No-Prep Dental Laminates: Is It Really 'No Prep'? hello! Lee Hyun-seop, Chief Director of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. As you get older, you come to deeply realize just how precious dental health is. In particular, as elderly people begin to lose their teeth one by one, they find it difficult to chew food, their pronunciation becomes slurred, and they are prone to losing confidence in interpersonal relationships. In the past, many people wore dentures, but nowadays, the trend is to prefer implants due to the comfort they provide, which is similar in texture to natural teeth. However, the biggest obstacle would undoubtedly be the considerable 'cost'. Today, for those of you who have been hesitating to seek treatment due to the financial burden, I will explain in a very simple way how to receive benefits through the senior implant support system. 1. Who is eligible for dental implant support for the elderly? 🦷 If you are 65 years of age or older and have partial edentulism, you can receive treatment for up to two teeth in your lifetime with a 30% co-payment. Currently, health insurance provides dental implant benefits to support the dental health of seniors. However, this does not apply to all situations, and you must meet the following requirements. 🔸 Age Requirements Seniors aged 65 or older 🔸 Dental condition Partially edentulous condition with some teeth remaining 🔸 Membership Eligibility Health insurance subscribers or dependents If you meet these conditions, you can receive insurance coverage for up to two policies in your lifetime, out of the total cost Co-payment approximately 30% You can proceed with treatment at a high level, significantly reducing the burden compared to standard implants. 2. Why do prices vary from dental clinic to dental clinic, and when are additional costs incurred? 🦷Additional procedure costs may apply depending on the materials used and the condition of the patient's gum bone. Many patients ask, "The government provides support, so why is the final price different at every dental clinic?" The reason is that differences arise depending on which brand is used when implanting, the type of prosthesis, and the experience of the medical staff and the dental clinic's system. In addition, not all cases end with just the basic cost of the implant covered by health insurance. ✔️ Cases of severe gum bone deficiency ✔️ Cases where maxillary sinus lift is necessary ✔️ If your overall gum condition is poor In particular, elderly patients often have already absorbed alveolar bone (gum bone), so additional treatments such as bone grafting may be required; in such cases, a separate additional costs This may occur. 3. Why shouldn't you choose a dental clinic based solely on price? 🦷Since the elderly require consideration of both resilience and systemic diseases, the proficiency of medical staff should be the top priority. Dental implants are by no means a one-time treatment to be carelessly placed at a cheap place and called off. For the elderly, precise diagnosis is essential because they have low bone density and slow recovery rates, and above all, often suffer from systemic diseases. If you make a decision based solely on cost and then experience side effects requiring re-implantation, it could end up costing you double the time and money. Therefore, when choosing a dental clinic, be sure to check the checklist below! 📌 Do the medical staff have extensive clinical experience? 📌 Do they use genuine implant materials? 📌 Is a systematic follow-up care and regular check-up system in place? 📌 Is the scope of after-sales service and warranty clear? Ultimately, the core of the implant is How long and stably it can be used without side effects after being planted once It depends on. 4. What should I do if I have systemic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure? If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or osteoporosis, you must inform the medical staff before the procedure, as these conditions affect bone fusion. There are a great many elderly patients with underlying conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and osteoporosis. These conditions involve the implant firmly attaching to the bone Bone fusion It can have a direct impact on the process or wound healing. For successful results, you must thoroughly check any medications you are currently taking before the procedure and meticulously manage blood sugar levels and oral hygiene to reduce the possibility of inflammation or unnecessary additional costs. 5. How to keep dental implants healthy for a long time after the procedure? Thorough personal hygiene and regular dental checkups are the only shortcuts to extending your lifespan. Just as important as getting implants economically with support is knowing how to care for them for a lifetime after they are implanted. If you strictly follow just the following three rules in your mouth, you can use it stably for a long time. ✨ Make regular dental checkups every 6 months to 1 year a part of your daily routine! You must never skip the regular check-up schedule provided by the dental clinic. If invisible, microscopic gum inflammation or abnormalities in dental prosthetics are detected early, major treatments can be prevented. 🦷 Thorough brushing is a must; make dental floss and interdental brushes a part of your daily routine. 🚫 Absolutely quit smoking, as it causes inflammation around the implant. ⚠️ Avoid foods that are too hard or excessively tough, like squid. 🏥 Visit the dentist regularly for checkups, even if you have no symptoms F AQ Q1. You mentioned that support is limited to two times in a lifetime. If I am not satisfied with the dental clinic, can I switch midway and receive support again? A1. Health insurance support for dental implants is, in principle, Up to 2 in a lifetime Once the registration process is complete, it is difficult to change dental clinics due to a simple change of mind. You must carefully review everything from the initial diagnosis stage to the scope of aftercare before making a prudent choice. Q2. Are bone graft costs also covered by health insurance benefits (30% co-payment)? A2. No, unfortunately, additional surgeries such as bone grafting or maxillary sinus lifts are Excluded from insurance coverage These are often non-covered items. Since additional costs may arise depending on the patient's gum condition, a thorough diagnosis and consultation are required in advance. conclusion The senior implant support system is a valuable health insurance benefit that improves access to treatment for elderly patients who have been delaying treatment due to the burden of costs. Rather than blindly chasing after places with the lowest prices, choose one that can accurately diagnose my condition Medical staff with extensive clinical experience Whether there is, Post-management system You must also consider whether it is properly equipped to ensure stable use for a long time. If you are experiencing dental discomfort, please do not delay; we encourage you to consult with medical professionals to design a healthy treatment plan that is perfect for you. hello! Son Dong-guk, Chief Director of Toktok Plant Dental Clinic It is. 😊 ✏️ As you get older, dental and gum problems are a difficult concern to avoid. In fact, there are many people who visit the clinic heartbroken after losing more than half of their teeth. In the past, many people used dentures, but nowadays, they prefer implants because they provide good chewing power and cause less foreign body sensation. However, proceeding with almost no teeth Full implant Since the physical and financial burden is significant, a more precise plan is required. ✏️ Why is precise diagnosis so important for full body implants? ? As this is a highly complex surgery involving the implantation of 15 to 20 implants in the upper and lower jaws, meticulous planning is essential. Full dental implants are a major surgery that goes beyond simply implanting a few teeth to reconstructing the entire oral cavity. Because the scope of the surgery is wide Implant location perfectly suited to the individual's oral structure and gum condition Deciding on that is the key. Director's Tip! To restore chewing power similar to natural teeth and use them comfortably for a long time, the first step, the 'diagnosis,' must be accurate. ✏️ If you forcefully save a bad tooth, it can actually be harmful. ? 👉🏻Insisting on using teeth that are in poor condition can lead to the need for implant revision surgery, so caution is required. Many people say, "I want to save even one more of my teeth," but if you forcibly leave behind a tooth with severe inflammation... Inflammation can spread to the newly implanted implant. As a result, if you have to undergo revision surgery, it will cost twice as much time and money. • Checkpoint Based on the diagnosis of an expert with over 190,000 implantation data points, there are times when bold decisions are necessary for long-term success. ✏️ What is the 'principled treatment' that Toktok Plant insists on? ? 👉🏻 We ensure long-term stability with customized abutment teeth and high-strength zirconia. The implant procedure proceeds in the order of implanting a fixture into the gum bone, connecting an abutment, and then placing a prosthesis. hello! Lee Hyun-seop, Chief Director of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. White teeth revealed when smiling brightly are everyone's dream. Perhaps that is why many people are considering teeth whitening. When you actually receive counseling "Why are the costs so different at every dental clinic?" You will likely have questions. You felt anxious looking only for cheap places, but found expensive ones burdensome, right? 📌Today, the secret behind that cost difference and Criteria for Choosing Fail-Proof Teeth Whitening I will organize it thoroughly for you! 1. Why is it difficult to simply compare teeth whitening treatment costs? This is because teeth whitening is more than just a procedure of applying medication. Many people think, "Aren't all skin whitening treatments the same?" but in reality, there are really many factors to consider. Key causes of cost differences It is as follows. Concentration and ingredients of whitening agents : The results vary depending on the quality of the medication used. 🧪 Equipment used : Whitening efficiency is determined by the type of LED or light equipment. ⚡ Number of procedures and time : This is because the number of times required varies depending on the individual's degree of discoloration. Medical staff proficiency : The key is how precisely the gum protectant is applied and how evenly the procedure is performed. 💡 A word from the Director: Even procedures with the same name can vary widely in value depending on how they are performed! 2. What is the right teeth whitening method for me? 🦷 Professional whitening versus at-home whitening; the choice depends on your purpose. Teeth whitening generally comes in two main paths. Choose the one that best suits your situation! ✔️ Professional Teeth Whitening (Dental Procedure) At the dental clinic High-concentration whitening agent and beam equipment Proceed quickly using . It is effective when you want noticeable changes in a short period of time (job interviews, weddings, etc.). ✨ Medical staff apply the gum protectant directly, ensuring safety and high color uniformity. ✔️ At-home teeth whitening (home care) In a mold made by a dentist Low-concentration whitening agent Put it in and manage it yourself at home. It brightens slowly, but is relatively inexpensive and great for consistent maintenance. 🏠 3. Why do the results come out differently even though the price is the same? 🦷 This is due to differences in individual dental conditions and treatment expertise. The reason why results differ even with similar costs Causes of tooth discoloration It's because everyone is different. 🔍 Simple food discoloration lightens quickly, but, Discoloration caused by antibiotics Ina Old discoloration silver Repeat procedures are necessary You can do it. Whether a smooth, stain-free result is achieved depends on how precisely the whitening agent is applied and the quality of the product used. Rather than simply looking at the price tag, A place that accurately identifies the cause of my discoloration and creates a customized plan It is important to find it! 4. What precautions must you check before whitening? 🦷 Teeth whitening is safe only if the condition of your teeth is confirmed to be healthy. ⚠️ You cannot whiten your teeth immediately without any conditions. If you have any of the symptoms below, you must receive treatment first. If you have cavities or gum inflammation : The whitening agent may cause severe pain upon contact. 🦷 In cases of severe sensitivity : Caution is required as sensitivity may temporarily increase after whitening. During pregnancy and breastfeeding : We recommend postponing whitening treatments if possible. 5. What are the best tips for maintaining the effects for a long time? 🦷 Post-procedure care is the finishing touch to whitening! ☕🚫 Lifestyle habits are really important to maintain brighter teeth for a long time. Avoid foods that cause discoloration : Please avoid foods with strong coloring, such as coffee, wine, and curry. Making straw use a part of daily life : It reduces the surface area where beverages come into direct contact with the teeth. Thorough hygiene management : If you brush your teeth immediately after meals and practice quitting smoking and moderation in drinking, it will last much longer. ✨ FAQ Q1. Does teeth become very sensitive after teeth whitening? ? A1. You may experience a cold sensation due to temporary hypersensitivity, but it usually disappears naturally within a few days. If done under the supervision of a professional, you don't need to worry too much. 😊 Q2. Are over-the-counter whitening products also effective? ? A2. Unverified products have unclear concentrations and pose a risk of irritating the gums or causing burns. For your safety, be sure to consult with a dentist and use certified products! conclusion Teeth Whitening Treatment: 3 Things More Important Than Cost Teeth whitening goes beyond simply making teeth whiter; your confidence This is a treatment that helps you find it. Cost is important, but make sure to check at least these three things! Is this method suitable for my dental condition? Is it possible to sufficiently reach the desired color? Is the follow-up care systematic? If you want to change your first impression with a bright smile, please make a careful choice by considering the quality of the overall process and the result together, rather than comparing prices alone. hello! Lee Hyun-seop, Chief Director of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. When a tooth is slightly chipped or cracked, there is a question that many people ask first. as soon as Couldn't we just do it simply with resin? This is the part I am doing. Many people prefer resin due to its low cost and the ability to complete treatment on the same day, but in reality, its feasibility clearly depends on the condition of the teeth. Today, I will easily explain the criteria for resin treatment for fractured molars! 🦷 ( Fracture (It refers to a condition where part of the tooth is chipped or cracked!) 1. In what cases is dental resin treatment possible? ? 🦷 It is most effective when the extent of tooth damage is small and in the early stages. . Resin offers excellent aesthetics because it involves directly filling the tooth with a material similar in color. I mainly recommend this for the following situations. 📌 Fine cracks: In the case of a very thin crack on the surface of a tooth 📌 Small fracture: In cases where a small part of the tooth is chipped off 📌 Early tooth decay: When the rotten area is not large and can be filled immediately after removal 📌 Deficit Supplement: When part of the front teeth or molars is lost 💡 A word from the Director! If it is in the early stages, the biggest appeal of resin is that it allows for treatment while preserving natural teeth as much as possible! 2. Why are small cracks, which seem insignificant, dangerous? ? 🦷 Teeth lack the ability to heal themselves, so if left untreated, a small problem will eventually become a major one. . Even tiny cracks that are barely visible should be treated with caution if they send the following signals. ✔️ Instantly when chewing food A tingling sensation ✔️ The sensation when eating cold water or hot food A brief chill ✔️ Especially on specific areas The sensation of food getting stuck ⚠️ Be careful! The cracks in the teeth gradually deepen over time. If you cannot resolve it with resin in time Inlay, Crown, Root Canal Treatment Beyond the worst case implants You might have to do up to that. You should consider resin as a treatment to be done 'in advance when possible'. 3. What causes teeth to break? ? 🦷 Not only accidents but also trivial daily habits can make your teeth diseased. . Molars are where chewing force is concentrated, so even small damage can quickly escalate. Watch out for the following minor habits! ❄️ Bite the ice: The habit of crushing hard ice with teeth 🦀 Hard food: Enjoying tough and hard foods such as marinated crab and nuts 🦷 bad habit: Teeth grinding or unconsciously clenching teeth while sleeping 📉 Other factors: Areas weakened by cavities or natural weakening due to aging 4. How do dentists find invisible gold? ? 🦷 Even cracks that are difficult to identify with the naked eye can be detected through precise inspection. all. 🔹 Coloration Test: Confirm the location by letting the pigment seep into the crack. 🔹 Optical Inspection: It uses a special light reaction to locate areas where bacteria have proliferated or cracks have formed. 🔹 CT Scan: We provide the most accurate diagnosis by assessing the depth and extent of the gold in three dimensions. 5. Resin vs. Inlay/Crown, How to Choose ? 🦷 Resin is not necessarily the best option; you must choose the 'appropriate' treatment for your tooth condition. . division Resin treatment Inlay / Crown Applicable to small crack, minor fracture When the extent of damage is large or root canal treatment is required Key Features Fast treatment, low cost High durability and withstands strong chewing forces FAQ Q1. I've heard that resin fillings on molars fall off easily. Is that true? ? A1. Durability has improved compared to the past due to advancements in materials and adhesive technology. However, since molars are subjected to strong chewing forces, if the fracture is too extensive, inlays or crowns may last longer and remain strong than resin. Q2. I have a cracked tooth, but if it doesn't hurt, is it okay to just leave it alone? ? A2. Even if there is no pain, the crack continues to progress. By the time you feel pain, there is a high probability that the nerve has already been fractured, so getting a checkup and reinforcing it with resin when there are no symptoms is the most economical and safest method. conclusion Timing is key to dental health! Once damaged, teeth do not heal on their own. If you keep putting it off thinking, "This much should be fine," you might miss the opportunity to finish it with a simple resin treatment. ✨ Just remember this! Reduce the habit of eating hard foods and crunching on ice If You Grind Your Teeth, Use a Mouthguard Detecting abnormalities early through regular checkups If you experience even the slightest tooth sensitivity or tingling, we recommend that you get it checked at a nearby dental clinic before it is too late. hello, Director Lee Hyeon-seop of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. Anyone who is about to have implant surgery or has just had surgery has probably thought about this at least once. “When should I start brushing my teeth?”, “Can I still use the same toothpaste I normally use?” Surprisingly Choosing Toothpaste After Implant Surgery is an important management factor that affects the surgical outcome and recovery process. But most people tend to stick to their old habits without much explanation. today Why You Should Care About Your Toothpaste After Implant Surgery Let me summarize. Why does the oral environment change after implant surgery? 🦷Because implants are structurally different from natural teeth, their management standards are also different. Although implants look similar to natural teeth, their structure is completely different. Natural teeth have a periodontal ligament that cushions the impact and prevents bacterial invasion. Implants are A state where bones and metal structures are directly connected no see. so More sensitive to external stimuli Inflammation can progress rapidly ⚠️ For this reason, choosing toothpaste during implant surgery should not be viewed as a simple choice of daily necessities, but as a ‘part of care.’ What is the first toothpaste standard to check after implant surgery? 🦷The key is the abrasive level and whether it irritates the gums. Why is a lower RDA better? Toothpaste contains stain remover abrasive It contains. But the higher the number, the greater the friction. General commercial toothpaste: RDA 70-100 or more Toothpaste with whitening properties: RDA 120-150 or higher If you use this toothpaste immediately after implant surgery, As the border area of the prosthesis wears slightly, Risk of bacterial invasion This can grow. ✔️ Recommended criteria RDA 30~50 or less Products labeled 'low-abrasive toothpaste' Why should I check for surfactants (SLS)? When there is a lot of foam, it is easy to feel that it is 'cleaning well', The key ingredient of that foam is SLS series surfactants This is often the case. This ingredient is Stimulates the gum mucosa It makes your mouth dry May slow down the healing of surgical sites ⚠️ It is especially important to reduce stimulation immediately after implant surgery, as the gums are not yet stable. ✔️ Recommended criteria SLS-FREE labeling Surfactant-free or naturally derived surfactants Is more fluoride better? 🦷Fluoride is important in ‘appropriate amounts’. Fluoride is an ingredient that helps prevent cavities, Immediately after implant surgery Excessive fluoride irritates the mucous membranes may cause. When using high-fluoride toothpaste Stinging discomfort This may appear in some cases, so caution is required in the early stages. ✔️ Toothpaste selection criteria Fluorine content: approximately 900 to 1,000 ppm If you are having trouble deciding between high and low fluoride, choose the 'medium level' Will toothpaste with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients help? 🦷Antibacterial ingredients that can be managed without irritation may be helpful. Implants are relatively vulnerable to inflammation because of their limited vascular supply. thus Inhibits bacterial growth Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients Toothpaste containing this may help. For example, CPC (cetylpyridinium chloride) green tea extract Herbal extract ingredients Xylitol but, ❌ Rather than focusing on strong sterilization ✔️ A level that can be used continuously without stimulation This is more important. Do I really need to use toothpaste specifically for implants? 🦷What matters is not the ‘name’ but the ‘ingredients and whether it is irritating’. To conclude, A toothpaste specifically for implants is not required. What's more important than expensive products is 👉 Ingredient composition 👉 Abrasive level 👉 Whether or not there is gum irritation. When choosing a toothpaste for implant surgery, choose a product that meets the criteria. Using it consistently This is much more important. FAQ Q1. Can I use toothpaste immediately after implant surgery? A1. Since the care method may vary depending on the condition of the gums immediately after surgery, it is recommended to follow the medical staff's instructions regarding the timing and products to be used. Q2. When can I start using whitening toothpaste? A2. Whitening toothpaste often contains high levels of abrasives, so it is safer to avoid it immediately after surgery and use it after your gums have stabilized and after a consultation. Q3. Are there any maintenance factors more important than toothpaste? A3. Yes. As much as toothpaste. Brushing methods and habits This is important. conclusion The implant surgery is over, but Management starts from then It will work. Choosing toothpaste during implant surgery may seem trivial, but it can affect the long-term health of your implants. ✔️ It doesn't have to be expensive ✔️ Avoid whitening and foam-focused toothpastes. ✔️ Check the ingredient list again And most importantly How to use no see. Use a soft toothbrush Brush your teeth gently and gently If necessary, use auxiliary tools recommended by the dentist. The toothpaste you use today can determine the future condition of your implants. The first step in management, Please reconsider your choice of toothpaste. Why are dental implants for the elderly different starting from the consultation stage? 🔸The safety of the surgery is determined in the consultation room, not the operating table. The biggest feature of implants for the elderly is General health status and medications The point is that it must be considered together. Not only blood pressure and diabetes medications Osteoporosis medication or thrombolytics Is Because it has a direct effect on hemostasis and bone regeneration Prior verification is essential It is. Stopping medication unconditionally is not the answer. Stopping abruptly could actually be more dangerous. so Determine whether to control it through consultation with an internal medicine specialist or a thorough review. The process of doing it is required first. → The key is not 'taking medication = surgery impossible,' but 'proceeding safely after management.' Is it dangerous to get dental implants if the gum bone is weak? 🔸If the foundation is insufficient, the implant will not last long. . If you have lost teeth a long time ago or have used dentures for a long time, The elderly person's gum bone When it has become as thin as a sheet of paper There are many. Just as plants planted in poor soil cannot survive for long, If you forcefully implant a bone insufficient amount of bone Shaking, detachment, reoperation It can lead to. So, what is needed is Bone grafting process no see. It is not simply filling with bone dust, Sufficient healing time until the transplanted bone fuses firmly with the patient's own bone Having it is the key. The wait may feel long for your children, but, My parents A safe choice that allows you to comfortably eat even tough foods no see. Is the implant procedure finished once it is placed? 🔸The lifespan of an implant is determined by 'aftercare' . The elderly have dulled senses Even if you have gum problems Cases where pain is not felt well There are many. Unlike natural teeth, there are no nerves around implants. By the time you feel pain, the inflammation has already progressed deeply. It could be. So, the important point Whether the regular check-up system is well-equipped How is after-sales service handled when a problem arises? → “I’ve finished planting, so I don’t have to go anymore” ❌ → Regular checkups are the most economical and safest management method no see. hello, Director Lee Hyeon-seop of Seoul Centum Dental Clinic no see. I'm only in my twenties and I'm getting implants... 😥 In the examination room The question most often asked by patients in their 20s This is it. I don't have any friends around me who have had implants yet, and when I search, most of the stories I find are about people in their 50s or 60s. But more than I thought Situations in which implants should be considered even in one's early or late 20s exists steadily. today Why do we find ourselves at this crossroads? , and Cost, lifespan, and reviews I'll explain it to you calmly. Why do people get implants in their 20s? 🦷It often starts with an 'unavoidable situation' rather than a management failure. So why does this happen? Implants in your 20s are more a matter of lifestyle than anything else. The inevitable reason It often leads to . 🔸 Three representative cases ✔️ Failure of deep cavity/root canal treatment If a tooth that was treated in childhood repeatedly causes problems and eventually leads to tooth extraction ✔️ Accident/trauma Damage to front teeth or molars due to impact while riding a bicycle, kickboard, or exercising ✔️ congenital missing teeth If you were born with a missing tooth, you are faced with the choice between orthodontics and implants. A question that comes up a lot is, “Can’t we just leave it blank?” ⚠️ But teeth don't leave empty spaces. When the adjacent teeth are tilted and the bite is misaligned, Rather, it is in the direction of damaging even healthy teeth. It often progresses like this. Why do implant costs feel more burdensome in your 20s? 🦷Because this is the first time I've experienced a 'big medical bill' The reason why implant costs seem so high in your 20s is simple. mostly My first expensive dental treatment Because it's a win. 🔸 Factors that make up the cost of implants ✔️ Goes into the gum bone Implant body ✔️ Connecting the body and teeth abutment ✔️ Visible on the outside prosthesis (crown) ✔️Additional if needed Bone grafting and maxillary sinus augmentation Fortunately, those in their early and late 20s In many cases, the bone condition is good There are many cases where the procedure ends with only basic implants without bone grafting. On average Price range: mid to late 800,000 won to early 1 million won per unit It is often formed in, There are significant differences depending on the brand, prosthetic material, and aftercare system. ✨ Important points For people in their 20s, 'long-term cost' is more important than 'one-time price'. How long will implants last if I get them in my 20s? 🦷It is not ‘age’ but ‘management habits’ that determine lifespan. This is the most frequently asked question. “You’re so young… You have to use it for the rest of your life, right?” To conclude, Being young doesn't automatically mean you'll live longer. In general, the average lifespan of implant prosthetics is About 10 years ago is described as: But this is If the management status is average This is a story based on . 🔹 Benefits of Implants in Your 20s ✔️ Fast gum recovery ✔️ Fewer systemic diseases ✔️ High success rate of early osseointegration 🔸 Drawbacks to watch out for ⚠️ Teeth grinding and clenching habits ⚠️ Late-night snacking, smoking, and irregular lifestyle ⚠️ If you neglect regular checkups Ultimately, what determines the lifespan of the implant is It's not about age, it's about management habits no see. What are some common stories that come up in reviews of implants in people in their 20s? 🦷'The time I neglected it was more regrettable than the implant itself.' If you look at actual implant reviews in people in their 20s, you'll see similar things repeated. 🔸 Frequently asked questions “It wasn’t as painful as I thought.” “I don’t know why I kept putting it off.” “Early management is really important.” A particularly striking statement is this: “It’s not the implant that’s the problem, but the time I neglected it before that that I regret more.” Your 20s are a time when you feel like you have a lot of time, As for dental problems, Time spent procrastinating is time lost. may lead to. hello, Director Moon Ji-hwan of Rebom Oriental Medicine Hospital no see. When your back is stiff and pain persists, you may start to worry, “Could it be a herniated disc?” , you must have tried it at least once. Herniated disc It feels like a sudden illness, but in reality, The result of accumulated long-term postural habits and alignment breakdown. This is often the case. In particular, the feeling of back pain spreading to the buttocks or legs If this is the case, you should pay more attention. today How lumbar disc herniation begins, why it recurs, and why a structure-centered, nonsurgical approach is important. Let's talk. Read on! Why does a herniated disc occur? 👉 Because the burden on the disc is concentrated due to long-term posture and alignment problems. A herniated disc is a disc that absorbs shock between the vertebrae. A condition in which the nerves are stimulated by being pushed to one side due to the inability to withstand continuous pressure Yes. This pressure does not arise suddenly one day, ✔ Habit of sitting for long periods of time ✔ Working pattern with a bent back ✔ A life of leaning on a deep sofa ✔ Disorientation of pelvic and lumbar alignment These small habits in daily life accumulate over a long period of time and are created. Especially the intervertebral disc The structure is relatively weak at the back, so it is easy to be pushed backwards when repeated postural stress accumulates. This will cause problems. Before you suddenly feel a “twitch!” your back may have been sending signals long ago. It is important to consider the alignment surrounding your lower back rather than just the pain. What symptoms will appear if you have a herniated disc? 👉It doesn't just end with the waist, it can extend to the legs. Back pain isn't everything. When a disc irritates a nerve, pain occurs. ✔ Butt ✔ Thighs ✔ Calf ✔ Up to the feet Radiation tube type It can lead to. Additionally, symptoms may worsen when sitting for long periods of time, bending over, or leaning back excessively, and incorrect stretching may actually worsen the condition. In this case, you definitely need to check If back pain + leg numbness/pulling occurs together You need to check for nerve stimulation. Why do herniated discs recur? 👉Because pain reduction does not mean “alignment has been restored” Just because your symptoms have improved doesn't mean your structure has recovered. If the alignment issue is not resolved, pressure will be concentrated in the same area again, ultimately maintaining the 're-pushing environment'. Originally, the lower back should maintain a gentle C-shaped curve (lumbar lordosis) forward to be stable. When this disc collapses, the load is placed on a specific area of the disc, and the intervertebral disc takes over. So this is a pattern that many people experience. ✔ Get better → let your guard down → get worse again… This is not because the disk is weak, This is often because the lumbar-pelvic-hip axis continues to collapse. Non-surgical Approach: Why Is 'Restoring Spinal Alignment' Important? 👉 An approach that addresses "why the disk was pushed" rather than "the disk was pushed." Spinal alignment restoration surgery does not only look at the lower back, ✔ Waist ✔ Pelvis ✔ Hip joint Evaluating this axis together Focus on correcting broken alignments Leave it. As the alignment returns to its proper position, the pressure concentrated on the disc is relieved, Reduced burden on the nerves A more recovery-friendly environment This is created. The key is not simply to “reduce pain,” Addressing the cause to reduce recurrence are you. FAQ Q1. Do I really need surgery for a herniated disc? A1. Most cases can be recovered without surgery. However, if there are functional changes such as nerve paralysis, muscle weakness, or urinary problems, surgery may be necessary. Q2. Is stretching good for you? A2. Not all stretching is good. Excessive bending or bending of the waist can actually increase pressure, so it is important to proceed according to your individual condition. Q3. If the pain goes away, will it be a complete cure? A3. Pain relief is only part of recovery, and if alignment issues and lifestyle habits are not improved, the possibility of relapse remains. conclusion A herniated disc is not a disease that is simply caused by a single impact. The cumulative result of lifestyle and alignment issues This is often the case. So rather than just temporary pain relief, ✔ Restore balance of the lumbar-pelvic-hip joint structure ✔ Check your lifestyle habits ✔ Sorting-centric approach Doing this together is key to reducing relapse. If the pain is recurring or persists for a long time, check your current alignment and determine the cause of the stress on the disc. “It’s not about pain, it’s about correcting the structure.” It is the most important starting point for returning to a comfortable daily life. hello, Smile Dental Clinic of Director Oh Su-hwan no see. At the dentist Implant consultation The most nerve-wracking moment when receiving it is “I need a bone graft.” Isn't it when you hear that? Costs are rising, and concerns are growing about whether treatment is truly necessary. In particular, you may have had the experience of being confused because the language was slightly different at each hospital. But rather than worrying Accurate understanding comes first. Today, we'll explain what implant 'bone grafting' is, whether it's really necessary for everyone, and even give you some tips for making a wise decision. 1. What exactly does implant bone grafting mean? ✨Bone grafting is not a process of ‘filling in bone’, but rather a process of creating space for new bone to grow. Many people think of bones as hard and unchanging tissues like stone, but in reality, Bone is a living tissue that is continuously created and reshaped and has microscopically porous structures. no see. thus Implant bone grafting is not simply a concept of filling, The process of creating space for bone cells to grow into It's much easier to understand if you think of it this way. When building a house, if you first set up the 'formwork', concrete will be poured into it and harden, right? Bone grafting is similar! The graft material acts as a mold. As my bone cells grow and enter it, it hardens into solid bone over time. In other words, bone grafting is not a process of 'attaching' bones, but a process of creating a 'frame (space)' for new bone growth. 2. What materials are used for bone grafting? Many people worry, “It’s not even my bone, so will it be okay?” bone graft material It is broadly divided into the following: 🔸 autologous bone Bone taken from the patient during surgery 🔸 heterognathic bone Materials safely processed from animal bones such as cows, horses, and pigs 🔸 Homologous bone Materials collected from another person's tissue and then sterilized and verified No single ingredient is always the best! They are used in combination according to the patient's gum bone condition and defect range. 3. So… is it impossible to get an implant ‘without bone grafting’? ✨ The correct answer is NO. Bone grafting is not necessary in all cases. The most important factor in deciding whether to have a bone graft is right, “How long has it been since you lost your tooth?” 📌 In this case, it is likely to be 'necessary' ⬆️ If you have lost a tooth for a long time and the gum bone has been absorbed a lot When the remaining bone thickness is very thin 📌 In this case, it may be 'avoidable' If the tooth was extracted relatively recently and there is sufficient existing bone remaining Also, these days, as implant technology advances, In some cases, stable implantation is possible without major surgery by using a 'short implant'. as a result “Bone grafting is not something that must always be done,” but rather a treatment that is decided based on the patient’s condition! 4. Short implants, are they okay? class I thought that a long implant would be advantageous, but Nowadays, surface technology and fixation power have advanced. Even short implants can be expected to provide sufficient stability. FAQ Q1. Are the purposes of bone grafting different for front teeth, molars, and teeth? A1. Yes, they are different. Molars must withstand strong chewing forces, so functional stability is the primary goal. Front teeth, on the other hand, are important for aesthetic reasons, as they need to prevent gum recession and shape changes. Therefore, if there is enough bone left on the molar side, it is possible to make a strategic choice of not necessarily going for bone grafting. Q2. If I don't do bone grafting and place a short implant, won't it be weak? A2. Surface treatment technology has improved, so you can expect sufficient fixing power. Q3. Is there anything patients can do in advance to avoid implant bone grafting? A3. If you manage inflammation well before tooth extraction, the implant environment can be greatly improved. Conclusion - “Knowing your bone condition and making a choice” is the most important. Implants are not simply a treatment to fill empty spaces. The process of remaking parts of my body no see. ✔️ “Everyone else is doing it” ✔️ “Because the hospital told me to do it” It's not something you can just decide. ✨ What is the condition of my bones? ✨ Is the purpose of bone grafting functional or aesthetic? ✨ Is there no alternative? It is wisest to compare and decide slowly based on this standard. If necessary, seek consultation from several hospitals. A treatment plan tailored to your oral condition I hope you find it. hello, Bupyeong 365 Dental Clinic Chief Director Kim Hyung-seok no see. I hear this a lot while consulting in the doctor's office. I think I need treatment... but the cost of implants is too much of a burden. Because implants are a treatment used for a long time When you need to handle multiple things at once The financial burden may feel significant. However, if you keep postponing treatment due to the cost, Decline in chewing function, worsening gum condition The discomfort can gradually increase, like that. So today Realistic choices and criteria to consider when implant costs are a burden Let me summarize it. Is dental implant the same choice for everyone? 🔸In all cases, implants are not the 'only answer'. Implants Restoring lost tooth function It is an effective treatment method. but In cases of systemic disease In the case of the elderly If the condition of the gum bone is poor The burden of treatment can increase. In this A situation requiring multiple implants If it is Cost burden It also increases together. ✔️ So the important point is Not the same treatment for everyone, A choice suited to individual circumstances This is necessary The point is that it is “to do.” Why do implant costs feel particularly burdensome? 🔸 It is not simply a matter of the 'cost of one tooth'. The cost of implants can vary significantly depending on the following factors. 🔸 Number of missing teeth 🔸 Condition of gum bone 🔸 Whether additional surgery is needed (e.g., bone graft, etc.) 🔸 Long-term maintenance plan Especially when you need to handle multiple things simultaneously, Rather than the treatment itself economic burden This is often the biggest concern. Are there any realistic alternatives for treatment that reduce the financial burden? 🔸 Reducing the number of implants and utilizing existing prosthetics together can be an alternative. for example, Implant dentures like Implanting a small number of implants sun Stably supports dentures A method of designing to do so silver ✔️ Compared to full implants Reduction in surgical burden Relief from cost burden Expectation of functional recovery You can expect advantages such as. This method, in particular, For those who find existing dentures uncomfortable For those who experience discomfort due to dentures frequently falling out or weak chewing power For those who find full implants difficult due to cost or health issues It can be one option for. but, Applicability may vary depending on individual oral conditions. Please make sure to remember this. What are the differences between implant-supported dentures and conventional dentures? 🔸Implant dentures are This is a method that addresses the reasons why dentures move or cause discomfort. Since conventional dentures are designed to rest on the gums, many people experience discomfort due to them moving or becoming loose when speaking or eating. On the other hand, the denture method using implants, Implants support the dentures Because they do it ✔️ Reduced movement ✔️ Delivers more stable chewing force You can expect. Of course, the same results are not guaranteed for everyone, and applicability may vary depending on individual conditions. Who is implant-supported dentures particularly suitable for? 🔸 It is worth considering in the following cases. ✔️ When having multiple implants placed is burdensome ✔️ If using existing dentures is uncomfortable ✔️ Cases where gum bone resorption has progressed ✔️ Cases where prolonged surgery is difficult due to overall health conditions The most important criterion is, rather than “which treatment is good,” Is it the right choice for me? "no see. It is recommended to consult thoroughly with a specialist to find a treatment plan suitable for your situation. FAQ Q1. Isn't an implant the best treatment? A1. Implants are a good treatment, but, It is not always the same answer for everyone. You must consider cost, gum condition, and overall health together. Q2. Is it okay to postpone getting implants due to the cost? A2. Depending on the case Decline in chewing function, worsening gum condition This could lead to increased inconvenience. Rather than delaying, it is recommended to examine the available options in your current situation. Q3. Is alternative treatment like implant dentures available to everyone? A3. No. Applicability may vary depending on individual oral conditions. It is safe to make a decision after consultation. conclusion Implants are certainly a good treatment method, but, The same method is not the best choice for everyone. Considering cost, gum condition, lifestyle patterns, and overall health together “Whether it is a treatment that is realistically sustainable for me right now” Judging is the most important thing. ⚠️ Rather than delaying treatment indefinitely Consult thoroughly with an expert regarding the available options in your current situation. I recommend you give it a try. Once you decide on treatment, it affects your life for a long time. hello. Dr. Hyunwoo Cho, Director of 3D Plastic Surgery no see. Every time I look in the mirror Protruding cheekbones Aren't there a lot of people stressed out because of this? "I want to get surgery to make myself smaller, but I'm too scared of bone cutting." I hear this a lot in the clinic. The burden of general anesthesia, concerns about pin fixation, and a long recovery period For those of you who are worried and hesitant, Today, I will explain about the '230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery' that reduces the burden of surgery while creating smooth lines. Why was 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery introduced? 📌 The Shift in Trends: From "Big Bone Cuts" to "Precise Trimming" past There are many patients whose cheekbones themselves are very developed. '3D clavicle reduction surgery' that boldly cuts and moves bones This was common. But patients visiting hospitals recently are a little different. Rather than cases where the bone needs to be cut out significantly, A 'smoothing-focused' case that wants to smooth out uneven lines. There are a lot more. Patients' needs have changed, so surgical methods cannot remain the same. So I thought about it. ✔️ Is general anesthesia absolutely necessary? ✔️ Is it really necessary to remove a large amount of bone? ✔️ Is it possible to achieve results while reducing the burden? A method to create the slim line you want while reducing the burden of major problems such as general anesthesia or oral incisions. The technique designed to do this is called ‘230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery.’ How exactly is 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery performed? 📌Using shaving technology and cheekbone 'elasticity', it precisely reduces only the necessary area. Many people wonder what the difference is between the 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery and the 'quick reduction surgery'. commonly Quick zygomatic reduction surgery It literally means to operate quickly, mainly excluding 45 degree angles. side clown only It is often dealt with. In this case, there are many cases where the 45-degree wide angle is not improved, resulting in low satisfaction, or where patients end up considering reoperation with 3D wide angle reduction surgery. the other side, 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery It is as simple as a quick reduction surgery, but it is also a lot of trouble. Solve up to 45 degree angles together There is a big difference in that they do it. 45 degree angle (under eye): Without cutting the bone completely Partial osteotomy Only then do the protruding part. Shaving So it grinds smoothly . approximately A reduction effect of about 2~3mm You can see it, and you can expect a slimness that is comparable to that of a real 3D reduction surgery. Side cheekbones (in front of ears): After slightly separating the bones, push them inward like a drawer to reduce the overall width of the face. {CT images before and after 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery (left and right)} 💡 Wait! People like this, be careful! if The 45 degree cheekbone itself If it is very large and thick Ramen, shaving techniques alone may not be effective, so a traditional '3D face reduction surgery' may be more suitable. Before surgery Accurate diagnosis through CT scan This is essential no see. Fixed pins, do I really need them? What's the difference? 📌You can choose according to the patient's condition and preference. Because the 230-degree stereoscopic implant does not cut out the entire bone, there is a wide range of options for bone fixation methods. In fact, the selection ratio of my patients is also very diverse. Non-fixed (33%) : Wait for natural adhesion without pins. Preferred by those sensitive to foreign substances. Titanium pins (33%) : It is fixed as firmly as possible (as seen on the X-ray). Melting Pin (33%) : Over time, it is absorbed into the body and disappears (not visible on X-rays). (Pre- and post-operative CT images with titanium pin fixation) (Pre- and post-operative CT images with fixation using melting pins) 👨⚕️ Tip from Director Hyunwoo Jo: Even though the results after surgery are the same, the bones harden quickly. If you are concerned about your bones not healing after surgery , Pin it I would recommend a little more. However, through sufficient consultation, you can choose the method that is right for you. FAQ 🙋♀️🙋♂️ Q1. What is the difference between 230-degree stereoscopic reduction surgery and 3D reduction surgery? A1. 3D reduction surgery A method of cutting the entire cheekbone + side cheekbone at a 45 degree angle with an incision inside the mouth no see. On the other hand, 230 degree stereoscopic reduction surgery Through a 45-degree scalp incision, the cheekbones are partially cut + shaved, and the side cheekbones are cut and moved inward. How to order It is important to choose a surgery that suits your individual bone structure. Q2. 45-degree wide-angle shaving, will the effects really be noticeable? A2. Since the swelling is not that great immediately after surgery, you can feel the changes relatively quickly. However, after a month, you may feel the swelling decrease. approximately After about six months, you will often notice a clear difference before and after. Q3. Will the hair in the scalp incision area grow back? A3. Hair at the incision site falls out and then It starts growing again after 2 months do. The incision line itself is small and often becomes unnoticeable over time. conclusion 230 degree stereoscopic reduction surgery Reduce unnecessary burden and precisely improve only the essential parts. It is a surgical method designed to do so. Not everyone experiences the same results, Choose the method that is right for you through CT scan and consultation with a specialist. The most important thing is to do it. ✔️ If you are concerned about general anesthesia ✔️ If you need a 'precise trim' rather than a full clown ✔️ If you are worried about the fixed pin We recommend that you make a decision after sufficient comparison through consultation. I hope today's explanation helped you make your choice. 3D plastic surgery CEO Cho Hyun-woo Graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine Master of Medicine, Yonsei University Graduate School Severance Hospital plastic surgery specialist Severance Hospital Plastic Surgery Visiting Professor Regular member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery regular member Korean Society of Craniofacial Plastic Surgeons regular member International Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ISAPS) member Regular member of the Korean Society for Surgery of the Hand Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons regular member Executive Director of the Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Research Association Director of Hyun 3D Plastic Surgery Clinic Experience in facial contouring treatment 21 year

hello, Director Kim Hyeong-min of Rebom Oriental Medicine Hospital (Daegu Branch) no see. When neck or back pain makes daily life difficult, the first word that comes to mind for many people is ' disk 'no see. But the disc is not just a 'sore spot' problem, Changes in posture, habits, and alignment that have accumulated over a long period of time result Did you know that? This time, let's understand the disk from a slightly different perspective, When is surgery necessary? , What to be careful about in life , What management is helpful? I'd like to explain. Rather than being blindly afraid, try to understand it accurately and deal with it wisely! 1. Is a herniated disc really a disease that occurs suddenly? ✅ The disk is not the 'culprit', but rather a structure closer to the 'victim' that is the first to get tired in the collapsed alignment. When a disc bulges, it's easy to think, "The disc caused the problem," but before that, a lot of changes are already happening inside your body. turtle neck with the head tilted forward hunched sitting posture Lifestyle habits that place weight on one side As this situation repeats, pressure is concentrated on a specific area, and eventually the disc that cannot withstand it is pushed out. ✔️ Key points Disc protrusion is a 'result' The cause is a breakdown in the alignment of the entire body. It is important to look at the structure together. 2. What postures and habits can worsen disc problems? ✅ Certain movements can push the disc further toward the nerve, making symptoms worse. If you have a disk Behaviors to be especially careful about There is this. 🔸 Deep bending of the waist 🔸 Maintaining a squat position for a long time 🔸 Lifting heavy objects using only your back strength 🔸 Excessive stretching by folding the waist in half ⚠️ If your arms and legs feel numb or the pain feels like electric shocks, it is not just pain. It may be a sign of neurological symptoms, so more attention is needed. do. In times like these, rather than overdoing exercise, Rest to maintain alignment and reduce pressure This first are you. ✔️ importance point Keep your back straight Remove unnecessary force No excessive exercise 3. Is walking good exercise even if I have a herniated disc? ✅ Depending on the situation, it can be either ‘helpful’ or ‘burdensome.’ Walking is generally a good exercise for your back, but An exception may be made in the acute disc stage. If the nerve is strongly compressed, walking for a long time will actually increase the pressure and make the pain and radiating pain worse. Because you can do it. ✔️ Try this 🔹 Short, frequent walks with your back straight 🔹 If you have trouble standing for a long time, lean against the back of a chair. 🔹 If you have to sit for a long time, use a cushion to keep your back aligned. In the end, what matters is not “how much exercise you do,” “Do it in a way that suits the current situation?” no see. 4. So… do I really need surgery? ✅ Most discs can be improved sufficiently with care and alignment restoration without surgery. When a herniated disc is seen on an MRI, many people worry and ask, “Do I need surgery now…?” But in reality, There are very limited cases where surgery is absolutely necessary. no see. ⚠️ When surgery should be considered If your arm/leg muscles become noticeably thinner or lose strength rapidly A situation where one's ankle is twisted and one is limping Sudden incontinence (emergency) But these cases are only a very small fraction of the total. Most of them Improvement is possible with just spinal alignment restoration and lifestyle modification. As the alignment is restored, the pressure concentrated on the disc is naturally distributed and the pain also begins to stabilize. ✔️ Key Message Understanding “why the disc is herniated” rather than whether or not to have surgery Changing your environment is key to long-term recovery. FAQ Q1. Can the disc heal on its own over time? A1. Some may recover naturally over time, but if the misalignment persists, repeated pressure on the same area may cause it to worsen again. So, along with recovery, Alignment and load flow management are required together. do. Q2. I have a herniated disc. Should I exercise or not? A2. It depends on the situation. During the acute phase, maintaining alignment is more important than excessive exercise. After the recovery period, light muscle strengthening and functional recovery exercises can be helpful in stages. The important thing is: Whether the exercise is suitable for my current condition no see. conclusion The key to disc treatment is ‘alignment’. Discs aren't something that suddenly appears one day. They're the first structures to wear out over time, thanks to accumulated lifestyle habits and alignment issues. Therefore, rather than focusing solely on the area where pain is present, Examining alignment, load, and movement flow together is the most important factor in solving the fundamental problem. ✔️ Key points to remember today Only a very small number of cases require surgery. Most people can improve sufficiently with alignment restoration and lifestyle correction. It's more important to "fix the environment" than to "blame the disk." Rather than being anxious, check your body condition now and manage it safely with expert advice. We support healthy movement and a comfortable daily life! 김현순 원장25.08.14Views 843Likes 6 [Health Column] What is Cataract? A comprehensive overview from early symptoms to post-surgery care[11]
Director Choi Woo-hyuk Hello, this is Director Choi Woo-hyuk. Cataracts are a natural eye condition that can occur with aging. However, if you think, "It's normal for my eyesight to worsen as I get older," and ignore it, you may miss the optimal time for treatment. Today, I would like to talk about cataracts. 1. Early symptoms of cataracts, don't just dismiss them as aging When cataracts begin to develop, vision may feel different in bright and dark environments, and eyes may easily become tired when reading books or using smartphones. In particular, vision may temporarily become more blurred after exercise or when dehydrated. If you notice these changes, it could be a sign of cataracts. 2. What is cataract? A condition where the 'lens' inside the eye becomes cloudy. Cataracts are a condition that occurs as the transparent lens called the 'lens' of the eye gradually becomes cloudy. This lens plays a role in focusing so that we can see objects clearly, but as we age, it loses elasticity and gradually becomes foggy. When the lens becomes cloudy, focus is not properly achieved, causing objects to appear blurry, and light scattering can lead to glare. The symptoms of cataracts can vary depending on the location and degree of cloudiness, and sometimes they only impair vision at certain distances or cause objects to appear overlapped. 3. How is cataract surgery performed? Cataract surgery involves removing the cloudy lens and inserting an artificial lens (intraocular lens) in its place. Recently, ultrasound or laser technology has been used to perform the surgery more precisely. In particular, implanting a multifocal intraocular lens allows for clear vision at both near and far distances, increasing convenience in daily life. The artificial lenses used nowadays have a lifespan of over 80 years, and their durability is so high that most patients do not need to replace them after the initial surgery. 4. Postoperative precautions and management determine recovery. Immediately after surgery, your eyes may become sensitive to light or see colors strangely. Especially in cases where multifocal lenses are implanted, lights may appear to spread or night vision may be somewhat blurry. This usually improves gradually over time, so there's no need to worry too much. After surgery, please use eye drops consistently for three weeks and be careful not to rub or vigorously wipe your eyes. Also, during the first week after surgery, be cautious to prevent water from entering your eyes during washing or showering. Even if you wear glasses, you may experience dryness or foreign body sensation, so using artificial tears can also be helpful. 5. Do not misunderstand color changes, blue light, and misconceptions When cataracts develop, some of the light entering the eye, especially blue spectrum light, is blocked. After surgery removes the cloudiness, this blue light can enter again more easily, which may cause colors to suddenly appear bluish or purplish. However, this is part of the normal recovery process, and the optic nerve gradually adapts. Sometimes, there are claims that wearing blue light blocking glasses can help prevent or improve symptoms of cataracts, but this is incorrect information. Blue light is part of natural sunlight, so it cannot be completely blocked, nor is it necessary to do so. 6. Timing of surgery, "finding the right moment," is the key. Cataract surgery is generally performed when vision deterioration causes inconvenience in daily life. If performed too early, the effectiveness of the surgery may be minimal, and if delayed too long, the risk of other complications such as glaucoma or retinal diseases increases. Just like squeezing acne too early or too late can leave scars, it is important to determine the 'appropriate timing' for cataract surgery. It is advisable to check your eye condition through regular ophthalmic examinations and to make a decision after thorough consultation with a specialist. 7. Recovery period and return to daily life, it is important not to overexert yourself. Vision does not immediately return to normal right after surgery. Most patients feel that their vision clears up within about a day after the procedure, but complete recovery takes a little more time. Washing your face is possible about a week after surgery, and normal daily activities can be resumed without difficulty after approximately three weeks. During this period, the use of eye drops and managing eye dryness are very important, and it is also recommended to limit the use of smartphones and computers during the first two weeks. In conclusion Cataracts are a natural aging phenomenon that anyone can experience. However, the quality of life can vary greatly depending on treatment and management. Instead of thinking "it's a bit uncomfortable but I can tolerate it," it is most important to receive appropriate treatment at the right time based on an accurate diagnosis and the advice of a specialist. Since our eyes are precious organs used throughout our lives, do not hesitate to visit an ophthalmologist if you notice any abnormal signs. Small changes can bring great reassurance.
