August 5th (Monday): Three things you should never tear out of your body (*゚Д゚*)
[Three things that should not be separated from the body]
1. Lip dead skin
If you stay in a dry environment for a long time, your lips will become dry and develop dead skin, making the surface rough. Forcibly peeling off the dead skin at this time can damage the skin. This is because the skin on the lips is thinner compared to other areas. Additionally, continuously peeling off the dead skin can make the lips even drier and swollen. If you keep peeling with contaminated hands, secondary infections can occur, and there is also a risk of developing angular stomatitis.
Do not forcibly peel off your lips; it is better to apply enough lip balm or lip cream and gently remove the dead skin with a cotton swab. Additionally, to prevent the formation of lip flakes, it is advisable to regularly apply lip balm.
2. Nail hangnail
Nail hangnails are unsightly and also bothersome during activities. Because of this, many people impulsively and habitually tear them off. However, it is important to remember that giving in to the momentary frustration can lead to illness. Tearing off hangnails can cause wounds, allowing bacteria or fungi to penetrate and potentially lead to paronychia. Paronychia causes pain and, as the condition progresses, can produce yellow pus. In severe cases, the nail may fall off, and the damaged nail can turn brown.
When you have hangnails, it is best to trim them short with a clean nail clipper. Additionally, to prevent them, you should regularly apply hand cream.
3. Scar
The scab acts as a protective barrier to prevent bacteria from entering our body through the wound site.
Forcibly removing it increases the risk of bacteria invading our body, and during the process of peeling off the scab, bacteria from the hands may transfer to the wound. Therefore, it is advisable to leave the wound until it heals on its own and the scab falls off.
