Recovery story from depression: You can get better from depression!

Hello. Today, I want to share my experience of overcoming depression and getting better. If there are anyone struggling with depression, I hope this message can give you some strength. When I first experienced depression, it felt like everything was falling apart. I was afraid of every morning, I didn't want to do anything, and even being with close people made me feel alone. I would cry over small things, and instead of hope for the future, just getting through the day was too difficult. The thought, "Why did I become like this?" kept lingering in my mind, and each day felt overwhelming.

But one day, I suddenly thought that I couldn't live like this. So I made a big decision, went to the hospital for counseling, and started treatment. At first, I was afraid to take medication and wondered if counseling would help at all, but I decided to change my mindset. Gradually, I opened up my heart through counseling and learned how to express my emotions.

Of course, the treatment process was not smooth sailing. There were many days when I felt exhausted and hopeless, thinking I had returned to my old self. However, by consistently receiving treatment, I gradually began to understand myself better and learned ways to escape from depression. The most important thing was 'not blaming myself too much.' Recognizing that depression is not caused by weakness, but is a condition that can happen to anyone, made my mind feel much more at ease.

And I started with small things. Light walks, listening to favorite music, writing a diaryโ€”things that gradually filled my daily life. As I accomplished each one, I began to feel a little better from a certain point. Days that were once completely dark passed, and I found myself smiling more often again. Depression can really be overcome. It takes time, and sometimes it's difficult, but through that process, you learn to love and care for yourself more. If you're going through a tough time right now, don't try to carry everything aloneโ€”seek help. I hope you truly believe that recovery is possible through treatment.
