Knee pain

I had surgery because my herniated disc in my lower back ruptured, but now my knee is acting up. It's not every day, but when the weather is bad or I stand for a long time, I experience pain severe enough to make my knee give out. I previously received an injection in my knee and it got better, but can I get another injection? I'm afraid the hospital might tell me to have surgery again. What should I do?
