(Post-surgery review) Urinary incontinence treatment and surgery
Urinary incontinence is a disease that naturally occurs in women who have given birth naturally~ I heard from people around me that many have had surgery~ I thought surgery was something others would do, but I never expected I would have to do it suddenly~ My symptoms suddenly worsened, so I wondered if I could be treated or if medication would work, and when I went to find out, I ended up getting tested and before I knew it, I was scheduling a surgery date.
I thought we should do it quickly, so I scheduled it for June 3rd and waited, wondering if it would get better without doing anything. I searched the internet diligently about the surgery method, timing, and post-surgery life. I heard about these from the doctor, but I kept looking them up myself.
Early morning on the 3rd, I went to the hospital~ I waited until 9 o'clock, but they came early~ After changing into surgical gown and inserting the IV, I really felt like I was about to have surgery...
After listening to the explanation and measuring my blood pressure, it was 150... I was too nervous.
Rechecking stock again and again, but it still doesn't go downㅜㅜ
I weighed myself before moving to the operating room, but the weight didn't go down, so I just moved.
I was so nervous that I said I wouldn't go down right away, but they said it's okay~ I lay down in the operating room, but I kept wondering why I was doing this... Should I just not do it... I could only sigh, and my heart was pounding like crazy... The nurses kept trying to tell me to relax, but I just couldn't relax~
Doctor, they only gave anesthesia after I received the call that you were coming up.
It's over after waking up from surgery~
Moving to the hospital room in a wheelchair~
I tried inserting the urinary catheter, but it's very uncomfortable ㅜㅜ
The surgery was at 10 a.m., but the waiting time took an hour~ They said it would take 30 to 40 minutes~
They removed the urinary catheter around 6 PM.
I ate well and received injections without much pain, so I wondered if I really needed surgery... but walking was difficult.
It was either because of the surgical position or the surgical site, but my thighs were tight and painful~ I crossed about 1 centimeter between both legs~
Since it was a one-night stay, I only requested and ate lunch and dinner on the day of surgery. I skipped breakfast the next morning because I didn't eat in the morning. I also received an antibiotic injection, had a check-up the next morning, took my medication, and was discharged.
It's been a month since the surgery, and I'm doing great~
Even when I cough or sneeze and lift heavy objects, I don't have any issues without tightening my sphincter muscles.
This surgery requires careful post-operative management, so I shouldn't lift anything heavy or strain myself. Just being careful about that, I've been doing housework, hiking, and I even started swimming again yesterday.
I was told to swim in a month, so I waited exactly a month~
I was nervous and scared when I had surgery, so I didn't want to do it, but now I recommend it~~ Urinary incontinence isn't painful, just uncomfortable, so you can live without it, but your life will change~
If anyone feels discomfort, I strongly recommend getting checked and undergoing surgery~
