I have kidney disease, and as I prepare for pregnancy, I'm worried about potential health risks and the potential impact on my baby. I'm desperate for honest experiences and advice from many people, wondering if someone with kidney disease can have a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.

I've been interested in health since I was young, exercising daily and paying close attention to my diet. Then, a few years ago, during a health checkup, I discovered I had kidney disease. Fortunately, it wasn't serious and I was told I could manage it with consistent care. But since then, it's become the biggest challenge of my life.

Now that I'm starting a family and wanting to have children, I'm starting to feel like my kidney disease is holding me back. The hospital tells me to get regular checkups and discuss them thoroughly with my doctor, but I'm worried that pregnancy could put a strain on my kidneys, worsening my condition, or negatively impacting my baby.

Moreover, choosing a hospital is a daunting task. Managing kidney disease during pregnancy is crucial, but I'm unsure whether I should go to a hospital with both an obstetrics and gynecology department (which is a bit far away), or to a nearby, more convenient, female obstetrician/gynecologist. It's incredibly frustrating, trying to decide what decision to make for the health of both myself and my baby.
