Unwanted visit to the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Ansan Hospital health check-up review (not recommended)

 

I turned 40 this year and am going to undergo a life transition national health checkup.

When I searched to get various tests done at once, the only place nearby was the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Ansan Hospital.

To conclude first, I do not want to recommend this hospital.

 

 

Looking at the departments on the hospital's website, it was a general hospital where I could receive all the examinations I need.

Although colonoscopy is not included, since sedation is not very good, I thought it would be better to do it together while doing the upper endoscopy, so I applied for both.

Since it was my first colonoscopy, I received the medication in pill form instead of the liquid. It was about 20,000 won more expensive than the liquid medication.

It was supposed to be 28 pills, but I was told I could take them with Pocari Sweat, and I was able to take them more easily than I expected.

I think I will take it in pill form next time. For those who have difficulty swallowing pills, I recommend drinking it. The medicine is larger than you might expect.

 

My endoscopy appointment was scheduled for the afternoon, so I had a general check-up on a different day in advance and went for the endoscopy a few days later.

There is someone helping me fill out the questionnaire, so when I feel confused, they kindly explain it to me from the side.

There were signs on the floor indicating which department to go to for the check-up, so it was easy to navigate.

 

 

Both endoscopy procedures were performed by the internal medicine doctor, and I went to hear the explanation from the doctor after waking up.

They only mentioned that there is a slight inflammation above and said it's okay.

Maybe it's because I went in a semi-conscious state and just left, but when I watch what was on TV, they show the recorded footage, but without that.

I kept hearing only that it was okay, so I wondered if this was right.

And when I came home and had a bowel movement the next day, there was a lot of blood. I had a hemorrhoid before, so maybe that's why more came out.

I thought I would get better, but then more came out, so I felt something was wrong, and I called the hospital to make an appointment for surgery.

I caught it. I performed an anoscopy, and there was a wound near the anal opening.

I asked if the injury was caused by the endoscopy, and they said it probably wasn't, but I couldn't believe it.

I thought it might be something during the colonoscopy, but I wondered what I could do against the hospital, so I just listened to the treatment options.

Thanks to that, I was able to fully recover from my dental caries. I hadn't been to the hospital until then, so it was left untreated.

 

Anyway, while getting the check-up, I was able to meet with dentists, obstetricians and gynecologists, internists, and surgeons.

I got the impression that the common trait among the teachers is that they dislike working.

It might be because you're having a hard time, but out of all the hospitals I've been to so far, it was one of the worst.

Overall, the nurses were all very kind, but the doctors who provided treatment were not good.

I especially don't want to recommend gynecology. I've had many cervical cancer screenings, but this was the first time I experienced such an unpleasant exam.

 

For those who have no other place to go and must go reluctantly, I am sharing the clinic hours and location.
