Visited Well Kids Pediatrics in Sejong City for early-stage pediatric pneumonia.

My son came home the Thursday before last and said he had a fever...

I checked and it's 38 degrees... Since I tend to have swollen tonsils easily...

I thought it was starting again.

I go to my regular pediatric clinic to get prescriptions and take the medication.

 

However, unlike the usual pattern of having a fever for 2 days and then improving, the fever has remained at 38 degrees for several days, with one or two instances.

I received a call saying I have a fever after coming home from school...

So, in the end, I also took a flu test on the third day, but it wasn't the flu. I'm starting to take antibiotics as well.

If your cough worsens and you think you don't have a fever

It sometimes exceeds 38 degrees in the evening or early morning.

 

So I went back to the regular pediatric clinic last Tuesday for a check-up, and they said it's not yet in the early stages of pneumonia...

I got my medication refilled, but the next day my cough worsened... and when I cough, it hurts all the way to my ribs.

I sent them to school because they didn't have a fever... but they had a fever of 38 degrees Celsius at school and had to leave early again...

And I was groaning and suffering ㅠㅠ

 

So, we decided to go to a larger hospital last Thursday...

I went to Well Kids Pediatrics last week, one week after the symptoms appeared.

 

Well Kids Pediatrics is our second favorite pediatric clinic.

There is a pediatric specialist doctor available for as long as 15 minutes here.

It is the largest pediatric department in Sejong, where the entire third floor of the building is dedicated to pediatrics.

The 5th floor is the outpatient clinic, and across from it are the pharmacy and the Atopy Center.

The 6th floor houses the health screening center, child development center, precocious puberty and growth clinic, and the opposite side is the inpatient ward.

The 7th floor is the infusion ward.

 

In front of the outpatient clinic, the pharmacy and the elevator are lined with facilities for infants and young children.

Cars are lined up to receive IV therapy.

 

There is the WellKids Atopy Care Center to the right side of the pharmacy.

The scale of the floor is also impressive, isn't it?

 

Well Kids, which can handle almost all medical specialties, is a place that every family raising children in Sejong has visited at least once.

Moreover, it is a place that provides medical services until night even on Sundays, so it is always very popular.

 

Our 11-year-old son was walking with a slight bow-legged gait around age 9, so we decided to seek medical attention before it worsened.

Will my legs grow here over the course of more than a year, within 2 to 3 months, and will I develop knock knees?

Whether it is necessary to correct the leg alignment, and avoid kneeling as much as possible, as well as sitting cross-legged.

They told me to correct my posture and continued the examination, so I decided to observe for now until the beginning of this year.

I haven't been going for a while... While getting checked here, I also found out that my son's feet are flat. Haha.

It's in Sejong City, but it's far from my house, so I rush there after work... there are so many people...

 

Even though I went to the hospital after work on Thursday... I heard that flu, COVID-19, colds, pneumonia, and other illnesses are all spreading these days... ㅠㅠ

Fortunately, I was able to get a quick appointment with a short wait time, so after arriving, I waited about 15 minutes before seeing the doctor.

It has been about a week with a persistent fever, so I think I need to receive IV fluids.

First, while taking the X-ray again, they said let's test for the flu, COVID-19, and adenovirus all together.

 

Last week, while getting a flu test, I heard my son ran away four times...

Maybe it's because I realized that it doesn't hurt as much as a COVID PCR test after trying it out at that time.

Pretending to be indifferent... I even waited for the test twice to poke my nose.

The room on the left here is the examination room. The examination room is very large.

And you can also perform a variety of different tests.

I had already prepared it.

 

 

There are full consultation rooms on both sides, and in the middle of the corridor leading to the consultation rooms, there is an eye examination room.

The laboratory is kept closed, and the system is set up so that you can enter only when you receive a notification via KakaoTalk.

My son was neither influenza, COVID-19, nor adenovirus.

 

The most popular teachers' reservations are truly filled up at the speed of light.

Still, our Panda Room teacher is also truly a gastroenterology specialist.

It seems that you are quite popular because you explain things well.

 

So when I entered the consultation room, the doctor said that the bronchitis had worsened.

They said it has only reached the early stage of pneumonia, and since it's pneumonia, the treatment will take a bit longer...

Since the fever has lasted too long, I was told to receive IV fluids.

I went to the laboratory earlier and received IV fluids, then got IV treatment at the 7th-floor IV room.

The 7th floor IV room has a two-person ondol-style room with a TV so that children won't get bored.

You received your IV infusion well while lying down...

They also had a blood test done and came back the next day to hear the results.

The groom took her, but her white blood cell count wasn't good. ㅠㅠ

Still, after taking the prescribed medication and feeling much better, I went to get more medication today, and they reduced the antibiotics to 3 days more.

They say to come again on Friday..

It's been such a long time since I've been sick with a cold for this long, not since I was a child. ㅠㅠ

From one end of a floor corridor in a large building to the other, there are over ten outpatient reception and consultation rooms.

The examination room and X-ray room are extremely large, comparable to a general hospital.

This cold was really severe this time...

Now that the cough has decreased and it's a relief, but when the cough is too severe and even causes chest pain

I was very worried that the pediatric pneumonia from China might have come severely.

Of course, when I had a fever, even though the flu and COVID tests were negative, I was worried that this might be in the early stage and not showing up.

 

I am truly grateful to have such a large pediatric department, equivalent to a general hospital, in the city where I live.

Since various tests are possible and in urgent situations, you can also go like to the emergency room...

I will go this Friday to report my condition, get another prescription, and I hope to say goodbye to the cold now.

 

And I hope our 7-year-old second child will get through it well...
