키스로 스트레스가 완화되다니..ㅎ 가족과는 잘 안하게 되네요 ㅋㅋ
A couple who haven't kissed in 31 years 😱😱... Is there such a benefit to kissing? 🤔🤔
Dr. Esther Yeo, a specialist in family medicine aged 59, revealed that she has not kissed her husband for 31 years.
On the 24th, in the SBS variety show 'Shoe Off and Divorced Men', Ye E-suh declared, "I've never kissed anyone since I was born," and "My husband and I have never kissed." In response, Lim Woo-il asked, "You have a child, but is it just a peck?" and Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon also questioned, "Shouldn't you kiss to proceed to the next step?" and "Isn't this just made up?" Ye E-suh, who has been married for 31 years, replied, "My husband and I have never thought it was a problem," and "Recently, I revealed this on a variety show, and everyone said it was a lie. It's not a lie." She continued, "Although I am currently living separately from my husband, since everyone else has tried it, I thought I should try once to see what it's like," and added, "We lay facing each other, stuck out our tongues, and just made a silly face. Our tongues touched, and we said, 'Oh, how gross,' then turned away." The kiss that Ye E-suh avoided surprisingly has various health benefits for our bodies.
First, kissing has the effect of relieving stress. In fact, research by Wendy Hill, a psychology professor at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, measured cortisol levels, a stress hormone, in 15 couples after they held hands and kissed. The results showed that cortisol levels decreased in both men and women. Experts explain that this is because pheromones, chemical substances secreted to attract the opposite sex through saliva during kissing, are exchanged.
Kissing surprisingly is good for oral health. During a kiss, our bodies use more than 29 muscles, and up to 9mg of saliva, 0.7mg of proteins, 0.711mg of fats, and 0.45mg of salts are exchanged through the mouth. Additionally, the sympathetic nervous system stimulates the salivary glands, increasing saliva secretion. This saliva washes away harmful bacteria on the teeth and prevents plaque formation. Although it varies depending on individual oral health, on average, about 80 million bacteria are exchanged, which helps build resistance and immunity against bacteria.
Furthermore, physical contact with a spouse, including kissing, is also considered a secret to longevity. Physical touch promotes arterial dilation and stimulates the release of brain chemicals such as oxytocin and vasopressin, which help maintain heart health. Oxytocin and vasopressin are brain hormones that induce a sense of security and increase intimacy. According to a 2016 study by the University of Michigan, regular sexual activity was found to reduce the risk of heart attacks in both women and men.
