After carefully checking my corneal thickness and eye condition, they explained the surgical method best suited for my eyes and kindly answered my questions, which put my mind at ease. I felt confident because they didn't just recommend surgery but fully explained the precautions and recovery process. I was very nervous on the day of the surgery, but it finished faster than I expected, and I felt at ease because the medical staff continuously checked on my condition. Immediately after the surgery, I experienced a slight foreign body sensation and stinging, but I managed it by using the eye drops as instructed. Although I am not yet in the full recovery stage, I am most satisfied that I no longer have to look for my glasses in the morning like before. If you are considering vision correction surgery, I recommend getting a thorough examination and consultation before making a decision. It was a satisfying choice for me.

I also liked that they accurately assessed my feasibility rather than recommending surgery unnecessarily, and overall, I felt I could trust them completely, so I chose GS Ophthalmology as my number one choice. Dream St. Mary's Eye Clinic had an overall stable atmosphere, and the consultation was conducted kindly. However, compared to GS Eye Clinic, it felt slightly less detailed in terms of personalized explanations and specific guidance. TL Ophthalmology was decent in terms of accessibility and waiting times, but since consultations tend to proceed relatively quickly, I felt that those seeking more detailed explanations might find it lacking. Nevertheless, it was a reasonable option for basic examinations or LASIK consultations. Since LASIK surgery is difficult to reverse once decided, I felt it was most important to thoroughly compare several hospitals and carefully choose one that suits my eye condition.

After suffering from keratitis twice, I was afraid to keep wearing contact lenses. Glasses are uncomfortable, and I really want to get vision correction surgery. I hesitated a lot before doing it because there were so many stories about side effects. My eyesight was also negative, so I heard that if your vision is very bad, you should get LASEK instead of LASIK. I honestly hesitated a lot because I heard so many stories about how particularly painful LASIK is. Plot Twist: What was it like when you actually went there? The hospital is a branded ophthalmology clinic located in Gangnam, Seoul. It doesn't feel as much like a factory-style ophthalmology clinic as I expected. It was a place where everything, right from the testing, was conducted very systematically. While waiting, I heard my name being called at the reception desk. We were performing not only LASEK but also LASIK and cataract surgeries. There were so many people waiting. I felt relieved to see that people trust this place that much and come here. What was the explanation that reassured me? What I was most worried about was definitely the side effects of LASIK! Light sensitivity, dry eyes, night blindness.. As the director explained... Not only LASIK and LASEK, but all surgeries have side effects. They reassured me that vision correction surgery has relatively few side effects compared to other surgeries. And I heard that the director himself and all the other doctors had surgery, haha. You also explained the difference between LASIK and LASEK well. After the eye exam, the surgery suitable for me is LASIK. They also gave a really long and thorough explanation as to why LASEK is a better fit than LASIK. After the eye exam, the results will be sent to you via KakaoTalk. These days, everyone sends notifications like this, and I really like it! It is good to save the images and compare them every time you get a regular checkup. The intraocular pressure test is normal. I had mild dry eye syndrome before the surgery. Moderate myopia... What is Today LASIK? There are quite a few types of LASIK, but I had Today LASIK. Today LASIK is a surgery that significantly reduces the procedure time. They say that corneal ablation is minimized by using only a laser, rather than instruments. I decided on Today LASIK because it has a lower ablation rate than standard LASIK and more advantages. They also send a surgery guarantee certificate after the surgery. I have dry eye syndrome, so I was also prescribed autologous serum eye drops to prevent it. This is not meant to be used like artificial tears; you use it for a week and then discard it. Impressions after the visit First of all, I've heard a lot of people say that LASIK is painful. Honestly! It hurt a lot at the beginning. As the anesthesia wore off, it gradually started to hurt. Still, it was only a bit tough until the first or second day. From the third day onwards, even though the focus wasn't perfect, I started to see quite well. After about 4 or 5 days, the pain almost disappeared. With LASIK, you wear a protective corneal lens for one week after surgery, and then I'll go back to the hospital in a week to have the lenses removed and get an examination, and that's it. Depending on the person, this process might be considered a bit cumbersome. What is your current level of satisfaction? Fortunately, I haven't experienced any side effects after the surgery. I don't have any glare, and I've had dry eyes for a long time. It’s something that can be covered with artificial tears, so I’m not worried about it. After the surgery, regular check-ups were free for one year, twice at six-month intervals. I'm not sure if it's still free. I liked it even more because it is an ophthalmology clinic that provides thorough aftercare. Even now, unless it is a minor eye condition, I continue to go to this hospital for regular checkups. The fact that I can see the whole world so clearly when I open my eyes is truly a whole new world! For those who have already decided to get LASIK or LASEK, I recommend having the procedure done while you are still young so you can experience this new world sooner. The examination and consultation were thorough, and the director's explanation was detailed, so I was generally satisfied.
