Why create a side cut?
By keeping the lenticule incision surface thick, it helps the surgeon to separate and remove the lenticule more efficiently, and especially ensures stability when handling relatively thin lenticules created during low myopia correction.

Conventional laser devices lack eye-tracking equipment, so instead of the most important optical standard, the 'visual axis,' they use the more variable 'pupil center axis' as a reference. If the lenticule center deviates more than 0.3mm from the visual axis, irregular astigmatism and higher-order aberrations may occur.

Conventional laser devices lack a cyclotorsion correction function for when the eyes slightly rotate while lying down, making accurate astigmatism correction difficult. Additionally, it is inconvenient to have to correct astigmatism based on axis markings made directly on the eye.
