Tips for purchasing Suncrip

Inorganic pigment vs organic pigment?

When browsing products to purchase sunscreen, you will come across the terms inorganic filters, organic filters, and mixed filters. What is the difference between inorganic filters, organic filters, and mixed filters?

First, non-metallic sunscreen is made by combining titanium and zinc, and it works by applying the substance to the skin to physically block UV rays.

Non-makeup sunscreen reflects not only ultraviolet rays but also visible light during the process of blocking ultraviolet rays. Due to this characteristic, a whitening haze phenomenon occurs, making the face appear pale.

Organic UV filters block ultraviolet rays by using organic compounds to absorb UV light, converting the energy into heat such as infrared, which has lower energy. Organic UV filters have less whitening effect and are easier to spread compared to inorganic filters.

Mixed sunscreen is a product created by combining two methods, and it can be considered a product that contains both inorganic and organic sunscreen ingredients.

Non-comedogenic sunscreens are suitable for sensitive skin or young children, and although they may cause a white cast, they are less irritating and cause less eye stinging. The application texture is relatively poor and can be sticky, and if applied before makeup, it may cause the makeup to smudge.

Organic sunscreens are said to be good for those with oily skin, but generally, they are suitable for everyone, with less whitening effect and good spreadability. However, caution is needed as they may cause stinging or irritation in the eyes.

Mixed eye drops cause less clouding and are less likely to cause eye dryness or irritation. They are also said to not smudge makeup well, but in reality, the smudging phenomenon can vary from person to person.

Mineral sunscreens, organic sunscreens, and mixed sunscreens each have different characteristics, so it is recommended that users try them out and choose the product that suits them best. Not all mineral sunscreens are necessarily good, so selecting a product that matches your skin type is important.

What should be the chosen cutoff index?

What SPF level should I choose? If you frequently engage in indoor activities, I recommend products with SPF 35 or lower. If you only stay indoors, there is no need to choose a product with a high SPF.

However, if you engage in outdoor activities frequently, it is recommended to choose and apply a product with SPF 50+ or higher.

The PA index is considered sufficient if it is ++ or +++. Nowadays, many products with ++++ are also being released, so it would be good to choose and apply the product you prefer.

Choose what suits your skin.

Choosing the right cosmetics for your skin is important. Even if someone else recommends a product, it’s useless if it doesn’t suit your skin. If you have sensitive skin, it’s better to choose mineral or hybrid sunscreens, but you don’t have to insist on only mineral or hybrid sunscreens.

Applying sunscreen consistently is important, but it is also crucial to thoroughly wash your face after use. Sunscreen is not easily removed with just one wash, so be sure to double cleanse.
