Husband's elbow pain

My husband's elbow pain has been present for about a year. He received steroid injections, which helped for about four months, and he repeated this twice. Recently, the elbow pain has worsened again, and he has been undergoing physical therapy and taking medication, but it hasn't improved. He was told that steroid injections are not good and that he should try to endure without them, but it doesn't seem to be getting better, so he's worried. They say he should completely avoid using the arm, but since he is working, he can't stop using his arm entirely. He's worried about whether it will heal.
