A part-time worker in his 20s installing air conditioning in a school cafeteria during a heatwave died from heat-related illness.

According to Jeollanam-do and others, on the 13th at around 4:40 PM, a report was received that Mr. A (28) was unconscious in the cafeteria of a middle school in Jangseong County, Jeollanam-do.

Mr. A was transferred to the hospital for treatment but ultimately passed away.

Mr. A reportedly experienced dizziness and other symptoms while working part-time installing the cafeteria air conditioner.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency classified it as a heat-related death.

This is the second heat-related death case that has occurred in Jeonnam this year.

Including these individuals, the number of heat-related illnesses in Jeonnam has increased to 287.
