Reddit's ranking of Korean foods chosen by foreigners living in Korea
8th place Korean ramen
aCNDerivative = In Korea, ramen is not considered a defective food.
ingpanda = Cheap, delicious, and low in calories, right? Eating it with kimchi makes you healthier, right?
leg43 = Even after coming to the U.S., I order international express shipping every month. Drinking and eating the next day is the best!!
7th place bibimbap
foolexcer_x = I don't know how many times I've eaten at Gimbap Heaven.
totel99 = Healthy food with good balance. Cheap and easily accessible. I thought it was a gourmet meal when I ate at the airport, but it wasn't.
If you have only gochujang, you can make it even in the United States!
6th place: Ddukbokki
Undercoverxx = I didn't realize at first, but it's addictive. This is a snack to go with alcohol.
I was sad to realize that the small piece was fish cake, but I was okay.
delta88 = I'm half Korean and half Irish-American. My mom used to do it sometimes... even though our mom can't speak Korean.
5th Army Base Stew (Budae-jjigae)
sirtetris = I still don't know why this is a military stunt. But it's delicious.
fareaes = Just by looking at the picture, you wouldn't be able to get a sense of what it tastes like. It was truly a flavor that can't be described.
drunkwaxlll = The visuals look like someone vomited them out, but it's truly a fantastic harmony. The downside is that it's extremely salty.
4th place: potato pancake (Gamjajeon)
Hey, have you tried this? It's really amazing.
I can't understand why this small piece costs $8, but it's really delicious. It's a snack to go with alcohol. It's eaten with traditional Korean liquor.
wolfgonzo = Not the pancakes eaten in the morning, but the pancakes eaten in the evening. I used to eat a lot of them in ancient times.
3rd place tofu stew
Wever57 = This is a food with really many variations. The common point is that it contains tofu.
8chma8 = A versatile item that can be used as both a snack and a remedy for hangovers. It was cheap, delicious, and available everywhere.
Ledlefido is the soul food of Koreans. They eat it as much as kimchi. I used to eat it almost every day when I attended language school, and I never got tired of it.
2nd place Korean BBQ
It's been six months since I came to the United States, but I still can't forget the grilled meats they used to cook on that grill.
Humenhugen = It has a strong smell and is high in calories. Koreans are almost as big as Americans. Maybe it's because of BBQ.
Koreans tend to grill everything they can on the grill. It's delicious but a bit expensive.
Number 1: Samgyeopsal
bc150026ba = It's crazy food. Because of pork belly, I ate all the vegetables I would eat in my lifetime (probably about wrapping culture) in Korea.
Every time I fought and made up with my Korean girlfriend, we would eat pork belly. So, whenever I see pork belly, I feel a strange feeling.
I never imagined I would eat bacon like this; it's truly a blessed food.
Everyone's taste seems to be pretty similar.
