생각보다 많이 걸어야 되는군요. 그래도 수명을 늘릴 수 있다니까 많이 걸어야겠네요. 괜히 만보걷기가 생긴 게 아닌건가요.
A study has shown that moving your body a lot can increase your lifespan by up to 11 years.
The research team at Griffith University in Australia conducted a study to investigate how physical activity levels affect lifespan. First, they evaluated the physical activity levels of over 36,000 Americans aged 40 and above who participated in the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2003-2006). Then, they performed a cross-analysis based on mortality data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in 2017, using the U.S. life table (2019).
The research team calculated the quartiles based on participants' physical activity levels, and found that the lowest 25% with the least activity walked an average of 50 minutes per day. The next group walked about 80 minutes, and the third group about 110 minutes. The top 25% with the highest activity levels were found to walk 160 minutes per day.
There was a significant difference in the expected lifespan of participants depending on their level of physical activity. Those in the least active group had an expected lifespan of about 78 years, which decreased by 5.8 years to 73 years. On the other hand, if Americans over 40 increase their activity levels to the top 25%, their expected lifespan increases by 5.3 years to 84 years.
Based on this, the research team estimated that if the group with the least physical activity increases their activity by 111 minutes a day, their lifespan could be extended by up to 11 years.
Professor Lennart Biermann, the author of the study, said, "For every additional hour of walking each day, life expectancy increases by six hours," and added, "The loss of lifespan due to low physical activity is comparable to that caused by hypertension, smoking, and other factors."

Yesterday and today, I've been spinning around indoors haha
Today, walking is somewhat better than yesterday.
I think it's okay.
