Some people believe that sweating more during exercise will enhance the results. However, sweating actually doesn't enhance exercise effectiveness. In fact, excessive sweating can be dangerous for those with certain medical conditions.

 

◇The role of sweat and moisture is to lower body temperature.

 

Excessive sweating doesn't necessarily increase the effectiveness of exercise. Sweating helps lower body temperature by wicking away moisture that increases with exercise. While more sweating removes waste and water, it's not enough to enhance dieting effects. While you may experience temporary weight loss after sweating heavily, drinking plenty of water will restore your weight. This is because you're losing water, not burning fat. Furthermore, even with the same exercise, the amount of sweat varies from person to person, and weight loss effects are more dependent on the type and intensity of exercise and the amount of calories burned, rather than the amount of sweat itself.


◇The risk of dehydration may actually increase.

 

Excessive sweating can actually have negative side effects. Exercise that causes significant sweating can strain not only the musculoskeletal system, such as joints, but also the heart and circulatory system. Furthermore, excessive sweating lowers sodium and electrolyte levels, leading to dehydration and reduced exercise efficiency. A water loss of 3-4% of body weight can reduce physical performance by up to 20-30%, reducing long-distance aerobic exercise capacity.

 

When sweat loss reaches 5-6% of body weight, body temperature regulation becomes difficult, and pulse and breathing rate increase. People with high blood pressure or cardiopulmonary dysfunction are also at risk of collapsing from dehydration.

 

It is especially dangerous if you wear a sweatsuit to exercise and sweat more. Sweatsuits are like exercising in hot and humid weather.

This creates an environment where fat utilization is reduced and carbohydrate utilization is increased. Lactic acid produced in the muscles is also not properly excreted, making fatigue more likely. If sweat does not evaporate, body temperature rapidly rises, potentially leading to heat shock and even death.

 

◇You should drink water frequently while exercising at moderate intensity.

 

Therefore, when exercising, it's best to engage in moderate-intensity exercise that produces a moderate amount of sweat. It's also important to drink 120-150ml of water every 10-15 minutes. Furthermore, it's recommended to wear lightweight, breathable, functional clothing rather than sweat suits. Before aerobic exercise, do a warm-up, and afterward, do a 5-10 minute cool-down to ensure adequate cooling.

    땀흘려서 몸이 개운한건 겨울을 생각나게 하는것 같네요
    그냥 있어도 땀이 폭포수인데 굳이 일부러 땀을 흘리는 계절에 해당되는건 아닌것 같애요
    운동도 중강도 운동에서 물을 자주 마셔줘야 한다니 
    알고 있어야겠어요

    그렇군요 운동 할 때 땀 많이흘리면 
    살도 뭔가 더 잘 빠질것 같은 자기만의 위로를 하고 있었는데
    사람마다 차이는 있나봅니다 
    지방이 빠지는게 아니라 수분이 빠지는거군요 
    탈수위험때문에 유산소 운동능력도 30%씩이나 감소하다니..
    물을 많이 먹어주면서 중강도 운동을 해야겟네요 
    물병을 하나 사서 들고 나가야겠어요;;
    밖에서 러닝하다 쓰러질뻔하고 요새는 집에서 홈트로 대체했는데
    차라리 홈트로 하는게 더 나을수도 있겠단 생각도 드네요

    대부분 운동시 땀많이 나면
    살도 빠지면서 좋을거라 생각했는데
