Binge eating disorder is medically called bulimia nervosa. It is characterized by consuming more than twice the amount of food that most people eat in a single meal, and if this behavior occurs at least twice a week or persists for more than three months after such symptoms appear, it can be diagnosed as binge eating disorder.
