How to make your nails last longer

I have had my nails done several times, but since I often get my hands wet, they don't last very long.

Moreover, since I hand-wash my sons' white socks, they all wear out and fall apart within a few days, causing a big mess. Do you happen to know any way to make nail polish last longer?

My nails are not very pretty, so I want to get a manicure, but since the duration is so short, I'm really 고민이 많이 되네요.

Is there no other good way than not doing housework? Haha
