Did you know that when you have a stomachache, you eat charcoal?

My husband buys this when he goes on business trips abroad, and he says he eats it when he has diarrhea or a stomachache. My son said he had a stomachache, so I fed him some ice cubes. It's like charcoal, but I don't think there will be any particular side effects.
