The next day, I received a call from school saying that the child was sick.

I asked my mother to take me to the pediatrician, and they said I have enteritis and will need IV fluids.

I think it will be difficult for mom to manage alone, so I just got a prescription and came home...

After I finished work, my child's symptoms gradually worsened, and it was past 8:30.

I made a reservation at Well Kids Pediatrics, the largest pediatric clinic in Sejong that operates until 11 PM.

 

Since it is a large hospital where doctors also stay for more than 10 minutes, the consultation rooms have been newly expanded.

The expanded clinic seemed quiet, perhaps because closing time was approaching...

 

 

After observing the symptoms, they took an X-ray first and then examined the patient, revealing inflammation in the lungs as well.

My stomach was full of gas... to the point where it really had to hurt.

It seems like I have pneumonia and enteritis; come to think of it, it was at the apartment water park on Sunday.

I remembered the child's words about diving and playing, so I told the doctor...

These days, most kids are playing in the water and catching pneumonia, enteritis, or hand-foot-mouth disease.ㅠㅠ

 

I went to get IV fluids because the IV prescription ran out.

This summer, with pneumonia and hand-foot-mouth disease being prevalent... it truly felt like all the children who were really sick came together.

Wow.. there are so many people.. waiting for 40 minutes..ㅠㅠ

I came to the hospital with the line connected because I was told I needed to receive IV fluids again the next day.

The next day, even though the line was still connected, I had to wait over 40 minutes just to connect the IV fluids...

The IV room was also full, so we had to wait.

Looking at the waiting list, most of the children are receiving IV fluids for pneumonia, enteritis, or hand-foot-mouth disease.

One side of the corridor's infusion room was completely full...

 

 

 

In the end... even after receiving two IVs... the next day... the second child crying because they couldn't eat anything and had a stomachache.

He/She has been admitted to Well Kids Pediatrics.

This was my first time visiting the Well Kids Pediatric Ward...

Certainly, for hospitalization with children, for illnesses like pneumonia or enteritis, larger hospitals or university hospitals are preferable to smaller clinics.

Pediatric hospitalization seems much better.

 

 

There are babies in the three-person room who seem to be around six months old.

Woke up crying even in the early morning... the hospital stay has started somewhat uncomfortable, and

First, I reserved a single or deluxe room, and the next day, since the deluxe room was available, I moved to the deluxe room for one night.

Certainly, going to the single special room... Being with just my child in a spacious place made it comfortable, and I was able to endure the hospitalization period.

The groom... says it's a hotel stay vacation~ You can enjoy the air conditioning, watch TV comfortably, and bring your own food.

That's good~ No joke, really... Phew!!

 

 

Let's just wait a few days while receiving IV fluids and eating porridge... and when I checked the next day...

The blood test results showed two types of pneumonia bacteria: Mycoplasma and Parainfluenza.

 

Although it was pneumonia, our second child seemed to have more severe symptoms of enteritis.

So, respiratory therapy for pneumonia and medication for enteritis were prescribed to begin treatment.

 

However, even eating a little makes my stomach hurt, and it just won't get better.

Decided to fast after only three days of hospitalization, and only after fasting for two full days did they say their stomach hurt.

They say the best remedy for enteritis is to fast...! ㅠㅠ

 

Mycoplasma pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection caused by infection with Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and it is transmitted through direct contact with droplets such as saliva or nasal mucus, or by inhaling respiratory droplets.

During the initial few weeks, high fever lasting between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius persists, accompanied by runny nose, sore throat, phlegm, and frequent coughing, eventually progressing to pneumonia. Recently, there has been a rapid increase in children suffering from Mycoplasma pneumonia.

 

The only fortunate thing was...

Most of the children suffering from high fever and productive cough are experiencing difficulties.

Should I say I was lucky... Our daughter only had a severe case of enteritis.

 

10 to 30% of all pneumonia cases are caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

Most of the patients are children under 12 years old.

This year, 80% of all pediatric inpatients were due to Mycoplasma...

It was a frightening pneumonia bacteria.

 

This time, the first thing I learned while caring for my second child during hospitalization is...

 

1. Recommend admission to a large pediatric ward for pediatric pneumonia! (Private rooms are preferred)

It's not worth suffering to go to a university hospital; staying in a large pediatric hospital with a private room or more is less stressful for both the mother and the child.

I comforted and put the child who became my mom's clingy to sleep, and I had to soothe the crying child.

At least turning on TV EBS helps divert attention and prevents boredom...

So I think I endured it. Still... the child had a nightmare at the hospital and was scared and struggling...

 

2. When enteritis caused by pneumonia is severe, fasting to let the intestines recover is the best option! (Fasting is the best medicine for enteritis!)

It is obvious that respiratory therapy for pneumonia treatment must be done consistently.

It's only natural to take antibiotics consistently, but the gut is also having a hard time due to the antibiotics...

If gastroenteritis occurs together, receiving IV fluids and fasting for a day or two to rest the intestines is the fastest way to recover.

Third! Adequate Sleep: To strengthen children's immunity through enough sleep of over 8-9 hours a day, we make sure they go to bed by 10 PM. We set a strict time to prevent them from staying up late watching videos or playing games, and if they break the rule, we impose strict punishments to encourage them to go to bed again around 10 PM.

 

Fourth! Stress Management: Kids also experience stress. Not only adults but children too, stress can harm health, so it's important to relieve stress appropriately and try not to get stressed. This is one of the things I really struggle with myself..

I'm exhausted and in a difficult state, so it's not easy to listen to everything the kids say, and I keep nagging them about their attitude, you know ㅠㅠ
