Kim Hyun Pediatrics Vaccination

 

My 6th grade son's birthday passed last month, and I received a vaccination notification.

 

I received a notice about national immunization for children under 12 years old.

 

The pre-notification for essential vaccinations from Seongnam Jungwon Public Health Center has arrived, so I can make sure the children don't miss their vaccinations.

 

These days, there are very few pediatric clinics, so finding a pediatrician seems really difficult.

 

Recently, the pediatric clinic our children used to attend closed down, so we looked for the closest pediatric clinic to our house.

 

This is the pediatric clinic I occasionally visited when my older child was young, but when I took my younger child, the nurse said this was her first time here.

Since I visited occasionally, I thought the little one would have a medical history, but there was none at all.

The nurse kindly received my registration, and when I said I wasn't sure whether I received the Japanese encephalitis vaccine or the live vaccine, she checked my vaccination history in the system and administered the vaccination.

 

 

This is the second child patiently waiting for the fifth Japanese encephalitis vaccination.

 

Most people infected with Japanese encephalitis experience mild symptoms such as fever and headache, but among the 250 infected individuals, one person may develop severe symptoms like high fever, seizures, neck stiffness, confusion, convulsions, or paralysis as the virus spreads to the brain, and 20-30% of these cases can result in death.

 

In particular, even after recovery from 'encephalitis,' 30 to 50% of patients may experience various neurological complications depending on the affected area.

Mosquito Bite Prevention Guidelines

Wear light-colored long pants and long-sleeved, loose-fitting clothes to minimize skin exposure.

Use mosquito repellent on exposed skin, clothing, the tops of shoes, and socks.

Refrain from using strong perfumes or cosmetics that can attract mosquitoes.

Use a mosquito net treated with insect repellent inside the tent when camping or sleeping outdoors.

Remove stagnant water such as puddles around the house and blocked drains to prevent mosquito breeding.

The vaccination was finished in the blink of an eye.

 

 

 

My child received all four vaccines from the beginning, so this was the final vaccination.

 

It seems I won't need to visit the pediatrics department anymore.ㅠㅠ

Nowadays, when I catch a cold, I tend to go to an ENT or internal medicine doctor. Haha.

I have returned home after the last pediatric consultation of the youngest child.
